Nero Was An Amateur
Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Obama golfed while Japan and Libya burned. But Obama was media-savvy enough to have his press secretary provide cover by announcing the President's carefully thought-out position on a matter of worldwide interest--the NCAA rankings. Am I missing something here? Let me know your thoughts.

Saturday he makes some snide, condescending remark about Hillary lobbing rocks through his window at night about Libya, like the whole matter is simply beneath him. The next week, he meekly follows suit with the French/UN no-fly zone resolution that Hillary was hounding him about. Three weeks ago Sarah Palin suggested this very course. Obama is an arrogant, hypocritical, complete wimp.
ReplyDeleteNot that I’m against enforcement of the no-fly zone; I’m against the leader of the most powerful nation in the world not taking a lead or even an interest in world events, and then condescendingly dismissing his Secretary of State when she brings her concerns to him.
We live in a sad world when Hillary Clinton would have made a stronger, more ethical president than the sitting one.
Joel: Michelle only worries about the size of the dresses. Price is not object.

ReplyDeletewahsatchmo: Obama is a leader like I'm a nuclear physicist. How bad does it have to be when America waits to lob missiles at God knows what until the French air force has attacked first. The FRENCH air force. I didn't even know they had an air force, but when one gets shot at, they'll surrender. Does that mean we'll have to surrender too?

ReplyDeleteLawhawk, my husband is French and he said this morning "It's a whole new world when the French are going medieval on Gadhafi and the Americans twiddle their thumbs." A whole new world indeed. I think it was Giuliani who called Dear Leader a stuttering weakling? I agree. Pathetic, embarrassing, shameful, and frightening.

I see that the African Dictators League... er, African Union, wants us to stop harassing Gadhafi. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAndrew: Those guys had better shut up or we'll lob a missile at one of their aspirin factories or baby formula production lines. Obama will seemingly never learn that if you try to satisfy everyone you end up satisfying nobody, and usually create a few new enemies in the process.

This reminds me of a sign I used to keep on my desk, “nobody knows what I do, until I stop doing it.” The same could be said about the President of the United States, the world abhors a vacuum, and like it or not, Barry is the leader of the world. This also fits very nicely into the classic moral equivalence horse twaddle, let’s remember what Madeline Albright said, something to the effect, “it’s not fair for America to be the only super power,” America is just another country…excuse me! We must remember on the left, dithering is considered deep thought - - too thinking, productive people it’s known as jerking off. I’ve never seen a more inept CEO, he is totally reactive, as opposed to proactive, once events get to critical mass, he almost makes a decision, and to think this is our president, God help us!
ReplyDeleteT_Rav: A military defeat is a military victory put together by a coalition. We're already getting criticism from the same Arab League that we joyfully included in the coalition. Aside from a few French and Qatarese (Qatarian?) planes, the coalition motto is: We're going to use military force, aren't you? What the hell did we sell all that military equipment to Saudi Arabia, Yemen and other Arab nations for? If they won't use them to stop a tyrant, we should leave them to their fate.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, I take your point. But Obama is incapable of telling our "allies" to lead, follow or get out of the way. I guarantee that if things start to go badly, our "allies" will abandon us and Obama will surrender and declare a victory.
Stan: Absolutely right. If a "leader" denies American exceptionalism, he denies America. We've discussed that in the past, as Obama said "the Greeks believe their nation is exceptional," etc., ad nauseam. That's a matter of stating the truth, but not the facts or the philosophy behind it.
ReplyDeleteObama's community organizations are falling apart or being indicted for criminal activity, or both. Yet the American people put him in charge of organizing the community of the entire civilized Western world. The results are turning out to be very similar. But at least in less than two years, we can fire him. Let's hope that's not too late.
Remember the "3 am phone call" ad from the campaign? Now we know what Obama does, he lets the phone ring, hightails it to the airport and gets out of town.
