T-Rav's Sockpuppet Theater Presents: Jackasses in Jacksonville

Once more unto the breach dear sockpuppets! And don't forget the chips. Tonight, CNN, 8 PM EST.

And tonight's pre-debate question: what question would you ask each candidate if you were the moderator?

By the way, there is a glitch with the comments. When we get above 200 comments, you either have to click on the title to the article or post a comment to see anything beyond 200.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious who won and lost this match. I sure hope Romney's as electable as everyone seems to think he is.

Good night all!

Glad I could liven things up! You have my grandma to thank. She's the one who watches news and politics and spends the whole time commenting on people's clothes. I guess it just rubbed off on me.

Same here DC! Thanks to everyone for participating tonight.

This was actually a pretty decent debate compared to recent standards.

Here are my thoughts (since tomorrow is a film article -- posts at 9:00 AM at the film site, you like you see!)

1. Wolf Blizter is a disgrace. The whole first half of the debate every single question was a smear at Romney and a request that the candidates follow up on that smear. Newt also let slip later on that he and Wolf friends, which might explain Wolf's bias.

At one point, Wolf actually "fact checked" Romney in the middle of the debate. That was wildly inappropriate.

2. Newt imploded. He got booed repeatedly, he got caught in several huge hypocrisies. He never once got the Big Shiny.

(Britt Hume now thinks Newt lost too.)

3. Santorum and Paul came across very well, though Santorum in particular said things that were completely contradicted by his record and things he'd said in recent debates.

4. Romney had a LOT of passion tonight and took Newt down with facts, argument and passion.

5. Obama took it on the chin repeatedly tonight.

6. Very little insanity tonight, even from Paul.

7. There is some Palestinian American Republican in Jacksonville who is really, really pissed right now because each of the Republicans said they would favor Israel.

8. Newt panders like a madman. Romney actually called him out on being a panderer, and he responded by pandering!

9. Commentarama readers remains much, much smarter than journalists or the candidates.

10. I think this debate failed to revive Newt's momentum which crashed in the last debate. I think he's in serious trouble.

11. Romney took some blows on RomneyCare. He's had better defenses of that in the past.

12. Newt continues to be an anti-capitalist, class warfare smearer. Tonight he tried to attack Romney for having money and for holding investments. BUT he got caught holding the same investments.

13. Newt kind of went insane when he started arguing to build a moon base and God knows what else. It was one of those "dude dropped acid" moments.

14. Romney did something very effective, he painted Santorum as "angry" and I think that will stick.

That's how I saw it. You?
