Got Blood?

The enviroweenies have recently switched their favorite color from green (as in grass and leaves) to red (as in blood). Apparently, all those images of clear skies and green fields just weren't getting the attention of the carbon class, and bucolic countrysides just didn't scare earth abusers into changing their evil ways. So it was time to ramp up the propaganda. And what better way to do that than to blow up a few schoolchildren?

In a pseudo-documentary pro-zealotry video entitled, ironically, No Pressure, a United Kingdom group attempts to persuade schoolchildren to reduce their carbon emissions by blowing up a few of the little darlings who didn't get on board fast enough. In its four minutes, the plan goes as follows: A school teacher, a business magnate, and some football (soccer) players make speeches and pictorial presentations showing how modern human beings are destroying the planet and causing global warming by riding in cars and using old-fashioned lightbulbs. But just in case they decide not to take the Ecoweenie pledge to return to cave-dwelling, a few of the recalcitrant little buggers are blown to bits by the activation of a red button on the teacher's desk.

Now I must admit that watching children get blown up, complete with flying body parts and geysers of blood is great fun. But I'm not sure it will convince anyone to buy into Al Gore's "Earth Is Unbalanced" philosophy. While watching children get dismembered and exsanguinated in a manner worthy of Quentin Tarantino is a real hoot, the message of lowering your carbon footprint seems to get lost in all the hilarity.

Sadly, there was an outcry from stodgy, humorless adult earth-killing carbon guzzlers. This resulted in the video being pulled. The producers of the video, 10:10 (shorthand for 10% carbon reduction by the end of 2010) are appalled. Oh, not about blowing up schoolkids, but rather about how the public simply can't see that using a gallon of gasoline is exactly the same as turning a child into a jigsaw puzzle, with lots of pretty red blood to put an exclamation mark on it.

Inevitably, the producers, via their spokesman Eugene Harvey, issued the standard we're-sorry-if-we-offended-anyone non-apology apology. Says good old Harvey: "This media coverage for this film was not the kind of publicity for the cause of saving the climate that we wanted (yeah, I'll bet it wasn't). We certainly didn't mean to do anything to distract from all the efforts of those in other organisations who are working so hard to secure effective action on climate change." In other words, the ends do justify the means, we unfortunately picked the wrong means--for now.

I'm going to assume 10:10 acted in good faith, and that in fact the video wasn't actually an ecoterrorist training film that accidentally got into the public domain. But it does demonstrate one truism--no thinking adult with an IQ above room temperature believes the ecohysteria about anthropomorphic global warming/climate change. So it is necessary to indoctrinate them while they're young, and find a way to make their parents irrelevant to their upbringing and thought development. And blowing up a few of the inattentive little bastards is not such a bad thing, either.

Meanwhile, the removal of the video from TV along with the non-apology has led to the video showing up on the internet. Millions of viewers who might never have seen it in the first place will now be watching it and forwarding it to their friends and contacts. Frankly, I'm not worried that it will actually convince any but the few crazed ecozealots who missed it the first time around. More likely, it will produce further revulsion in the hearts and minds of decent people who are daily assaulted by econuts demanding to know why they're not doing more to save the earth.

Of course, there's always that small group that actually enjoys watching little children get blown up for not doing what they're told. Like me, for instance. So just in case you've missed this Petit Guignol piece, here's the link: No Pressure. Knowing that not everyone has a cast-iron stomach, I chose the redacted, edited milder "PG" version. You're on your own if you want to see the really grisly "R" (for graphic violence) version.

I’m surprised at how unsurprising this video is. Of course modern day environmentalists would approve of this imagery: they don’t believe in saving the earth, they believe in the oppression and destruction of the human race. Environmentalism used to be about protecting humanity through the responsible management of earth’s resources. Now it’s simply a Jim Jones’ death cult, and the political classes are only all too willing to fulfill the cult’s wishes for a dictatorial oppressor.

LawHawk,

I thought it was a parody from a British comedy group. Good parody, lousy commercial.

It reminds me of the SNL parody of a bris ceremony performed in the back of a car. It was a take-off on cutting a diamond in the back of a car.

One can't make this stuff up, can one? It just proves we should never overestimate the intelligence of the enviroweenie crowd.

That anyone rational would think that this is an acceptable way to make a serious point tells us something about the depths of their psychosis. Anyone connected to this should be forced into therapy and anger management.

But then, it never takes the left long to get around to fantasizing about killing people who don't agree with them. And I'm not just talking about their forbearers in the Nazi and communist movements. The modern left is constantly hinting (or stating straight out) their desire to kill their opponents. Anyone remember the "activist" who talked about "strangling in their sleep all Republicans and people who oppose their fight against global warming"?

Joel: That's about right. In a Monty Python sketch, it would have been hilarious. But you have to be suspicious of people who have no sense of humor about mother earth suddenly developing one. I think there was more truth about their attitude than fiction in their bloody commercial.

Tennessee: I'm waiting for a humorless ecocuckoo to take offense at my enjoyment of children being blown up. LOL

Andrew: Let's not forget the lefty who hoped that Clarence Thomas's wife would feed him lots of high-cholesterol foods so he would drop dead of a stroke or heart attack. They are all the successors of Willam Ayers and the Weather Underground. If they don't agree with you, blow them up (one way or another).

Lawhawk, It's amazing how often you hear leftist suggest that someone needs to die to make their dreams come true. And I'm not even talking about subtle suggestions. It really goes straight to the heart of what's wrong with these people, and it's no wonder that they end up putting up death camps everywhere that leftism takes hold.

Andrew: We believe in winning against our opposition. They believe in eliminating their competition. Which is part of why I'm fond of using that definition of communism: socialism in a hurry. Right now, in America, we're at that crossroads where the left merely wants to control our lives. Once having accomplished that, the next step of ending lives for the better good is not a long one.

Once again the left tells us who they really are, seething monsters who see eugenics as a tool to feather their utopian nest, the ends justify the means. Make no mistake, these people are very dangerous, and must be relegated to the dust heap of failed ideas. I hate to harp on this, but it’s critical to defeating this menace, “60s radicalism and their spawn. I remember hearing violent outburst from “peace” activist back in the day, these same bastards control the government, MSM, academia, as promised so many years ago. And to defeat these creeps we must understand they don’t give a damn about the rules. These jerks must be completely, and utterly defeated, or one day their tendency for political killings will come to fruition.

PS: Those damned Giants! One of the best men on your team is Brooks Conrad our default 2nd baseman, five eras in three games, all resulting in unearned runs…oh well.

Stan: The willingness to use violence was one of the reasons I never entirely fit into the radical movements of the 60s. I was an opponent of the Vietnam war, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how killing or maiming civilians was justified either morally or politically. Even then, I could easily distinguish between winning at the ballot box and winning at the graveyards. I was motivated by hatred of the war and hatred of segregation. Most of these radicals (like Ayers, Dohrn, and their ilk) were motivated by hatred of their fellow man and hatred of America.

As for yesterday's game: Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I had almost given up when I saw that error. Too bad this kind of luck isn't working for the 0 for 5 49ers.
