Protecting Minority Voters—Part II

I didn’t have any intention of writing a Part II to my discussion of Eric Holder and his misuse of the Voting Rights Act to pander to Hispanics. That was until I started finding articles all over the place about the fact that the regressives progressives aren’t satisfied with abusing logic and the Constitution to retain power. Why keep it in the family when you can go to the United Nations?

At the same time that the attorney general is using executive orders and the federal courts to squelch the reasonable requirement of possessing a valid state-issued photo ID in order to vote, Holder’s progressive pals are proffering complaints to the United Nations Human Rights Council. According to the progressives (99% Democratic), requiring a photo ID is on a par with other human rights violations such as genocide, torture, dictatorial rule and suppression of religious freedom.

The NAACP along with several other “civil rights groups” claim that the simple requirement of proving you are who you say you are before voting is a violation of the human rights of minorities under international law. These groups obviously understand that there is one organization that is even goofier than the Democratic left, and that is the United Nations. Most of the members of the Human Rights Council represent nations which don’t allow women to vote, oppress any religion but their own, and rig elections to perpetuate their own regimes.

It’s good to know that there are still people who won’t rely on the racist American Constitution to protect minorities. They believe that Holder is doing the right thing, but possibly in the wrong forum. The American people are under the thumb of an oppressive white society, and the courts are rigged to keep minorities in their place. So what better forum to have your case heard in than where the judges are from bastions of freedom and democracy like China, Russia, Iran, Sudan, Angola, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Cuba?

It is quite possible that Holder’s order and litigation will finally result in the death knell of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act at the Supreme Court, freeing Southern states to impose the same voter ID requirements as the Northern states. It is also likely that without expedited proceedings, this will not happen in time for the 2012 presidential election.

The NAACP is wise to go to the United Nations, where such ridiculous charges will be met with open arms. The only entity more anti-American than the race-baiting American left is the United Nations. At the United Nations, they don’t care if or how voting is suppressed anywhere else in the world. But when it comes to America, the complaint will be well-received and well-publicized.

The only upside to this moronic behavior is that it’s also likely that Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and the Democratic Senate majority will all be gone in 2013. If the United Nations votes to condemn American voter ID requirements, the new administration can simply paraphrase Andrew Jackson and say “the UN Human Rights Council has issued its order, now let them enforce it.”

LawHawk,

I think Issa is holding back so that Obama gets safely away from the Presidency. That way, when he actually starts to prosecute these idiots, Obama can't pardon them.

Joel: I can't look into Issa's heart, but I know he isn't building these cases just to see Obama grant mass pardons to his cronies on the way out the door. So it's possible. He can only control the committee and use his investigators to the best advantage, but it will be the job of the new attorney general to prosecute. If Issa were as cynical as the Democratic crooks, he'd wait until late October, and start issuing very public contempt of Congress citations.

Issuing public contempt of Congress citations in late October? Works for me!

The world would be much better off if the United Nations were torn down and replaced with a giant Starbucks.

Joel Farnham said...

T-Rav,

Instead of a giant Starbucks, how about a giant Toys-R-Us? It could feature clowns. No one will notice the difference......

I suspect this will all end soon because our current Supreme Court is extremely hostile to this kind of garbage.

Joel: Republicans have to learn to play the game as viciously as Democrats. It would be nice if Democrats would learn to play fair, but that's about as likely as an alien spaceship landing on my roof. But you can play hard and mean without breaking the law or violating the rules of human decency. Late October citations would be hard and mean, but perfectly legal and certainly ethical (maybe even imperative). Any such action would be far fairer and more in the public interest than the ambush politics the Democrats used on Scooter Libby.

I never thought the Obama administration would become this transparent in it's race baiting agenda. Without any real knowledge of all the reasons, I can only speculate, of course. However, it does strike me that much like what we used to refer as the main stream media has become much more obvious, so has the administration. I think back in the day when there was no alternative (Fox News, talk radio, internet, etc.) and they controlled all the perception in the existing media, they probably were more cautious about the appearance of fairness, hence more subtle. With the current regime increasingly vulnerable in this election, I think the degree of race baiting is a singular act of desparation which, fortunately, appears not to be working.

T-Rav: Even turning the UN into a garbage dump called "The Idiocracy Disposal Plant" would be an improvement. And it would help New Jersey out, too. LOL

Joel: Clowns? By saying that, you have insulted all self-respecting clowns.

Andrew: I agree. This is nothing more than a political publicity stunt, designed solely to bring attention to the fake voter suppression that works to Obama's advantage. Of course, Obama has already shown us that he's perfectly willing to use even the Supreme Court as a political punching bag. The law and the Constitution are irrelevant to Obama and company.

Tennessee: I am in total agreement that his is an act of desperation. Obama knows he's losing the middle, by daily increasing margins, and he's terrified that he's also losing his group victim base.

Joel Farnham said...

Oh, no! Is the clown posse going to come after me?

T-Rav said...

C'mon Joel, bear with me here. Everyone agrees that it's a good thing for countries to get together and see if they can solve their problems by talking them out. At the same time, transferring our sovereignty to an organization like the UN is bad. So what's a place where everyone can get together and talk, yet not cede any of their sovereignty? Starbucks. Build a giant Starbucks, and our problems will be solved.

Joel: When you hear the sounds of very large floppy shoes approaching, you'll know the answer. There may also be the sound of an "a-ooga" horn.

T-Rav: An entire floor could be devoted to frapuccinos!

Joel Farnham said...

I don't know what the sound of very large floppy shoes is like. Does any one know?

Joel: You'll have to go to a circus and wait for the arrival of the clowns. LOL

In order to save their messiah (Barry) they will not pull any stops, by going to the UN is a further indicator of their desperation. As the old expression goes, “fool me once…” the American voter is alarmingly awake, and this does not bode well for the democrats, they only thrive in the shadows. We have them in the open field, we only need to get to November, to fix the mistake of ’08, and they know it.

Stan: The expression "dirty tricks" stuck to Richard Nixon, but he was an amateur compared to his Democratic predecessors and successors. This may be their biggest year yet. Though I don't want our candidate sinking to their level, simply telling the truth about Obama, forcefully and without retreating is more than enough. Whoever the candidate is, he can't hold back the way "maverick" John McCain did.

The problem with GOP doing anything "mean" is that the MSM immediately calls it mean - loudly and often. And unfortunately there are still a lot of people who get their info from them.

I recently saw "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" again. I was struck by the Political Machine not letting Mr Smith's actions get put into the newspapers or radio broadcasts - even to the point of beating up the boys when they put out their version. I noticed a strong resemblance to the modern MSM machine.

As for this inanity of taking "voting rights violations" the HRC of the UN - do their brains actually have irony detectors like regular folks'?????

i pray that texas hands barry his biggest margin of defeat in the face of these dirty dealings. i pray that whatever their dark, evil, stoney hearts concoct in the coming months to derail freedom are met with the fist of justice.

rlaWTX: The MSM no longer have the death-grip on news that they used to have. Sure, they'll do the one-sided reporting bit, but fewer and fewer people believe them.

Don't forget the other side of the MSM in Mr. Smith. They baited him into doing a bird call, then printed the picture to make him look like a complete fool.

And the answer to your question: No. They are automatons with "word detectors" which trigger automatic vicious responses to any criticism from a conservative or any other thinking person. Or perhaps they are alive, like Pavlov's dogs. Criticize a race-baiter, and they start barking and salivating.

Patti: I'm with you. Maybe it's serious time for Texas Republicans to get out there in the hinterlands, and get IDs for all those without them. The Obamaholder study ignores the fact that far more non-Hispanics than Hispanics do not have photo ID. They had to jury-rig their figures to account for percentages only, since raw numbers disprove their argument.

The Democrats have a real problem with this strategy that they have not thought through.

With Qaddafi dead who can the UN possibly get to fairly address these abuses. The Horror....

Indi: Qaddafi's fall from power and death were a true tragedy. There's simply nobody of his stature to badmouth the United States in the well of the UN. And look at all the tentmakers and dressmakers who have gone out of business without him.
