What Is The Primary Definition Of “Treason?”

The definition that most people would come up with almost instantly is “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” If that were all there is to it, I would be calling on the government to charge US Ambassador to Afghanistan Ryan Crocker with treason right this very minute. Unfortunately, there are other requirements, and the Obama administration doesn’t see the Taliban and other terrorists as the enemy. So it won’t happen.

Be prepared. This will not be an entirely bloodless discussion. I’m fed up to the neck with summer soldiers, sunshine patriots, and administration fifth columnists. It isn’t bad enough that our Wimp-in-Chief has fallen all over himself apologizing to troglodytes for a military error in judgment. It isn’t bad enough that the White House and the State Department have issued pathetic further apologies and then claimed that the apologies to Hamid Karzai had “calmed things down.” It isn’t bad enough that after those statements, two more American soldiers were murdered in cold blood by mad-dog members of the Afghan Security Force.

But now the limp-wristed academic and career “diplomat” Ryan Crocker has placed several big smooches on Karzai’s behind. Karzai is allegedly our “partner” in democracy in Afghanistan. In fact, he’s just another crooked, lying, self-dealing wannabe warlord in a nation of frothing-at-the-mouth primitives. Instead of at least pretending to accept the apologies and bring some hint of peace to this nation of cave-dwellers, Karzai rushed to get on national and BBC television to pour gasoline on the flames of Islamic hatred.

He didn’t even bother to disguise what he said on Afghan television when he extended his remarks to the BBC. Said the Mussolini of the Middle East: “Representing the Afghan nation and their pure sentiments, in fact the Islamic people, once again we call on the US government to bring the perpetrators of the act to justice and put them on trial and punish them.” This was after he told his own people “I have discussed the Quran burning with jihadi leaders, scholars and elected officials.” At least unlike our own pissant president, Karzai is not afraid to identify his fellow primitives as jihadists.

Instead of Richard the Lionheart to lead us, we have Barack the Faint of Heart. A fish rots from the head down. This rotting fish called the Obama administration has rotted down to the ambassadorial level. And Crocker stinks like a dead fish in the sun. In response to Karzai’s inflammatory remarks, Crocker issued his own statement. “If there are going to be proceedings, they are going to be US proceedings under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), and I don’t think there is any question or doubt on the part of the Afghan government that that is exactly how it’s going to go.”

Why would the Afghan government have any doubts? They long ago figured out we have a sob-sister Islamofriendly president and a host of ambassadors with the boldness of a titmouse. They’ve already seen multiple apologies for a simple mistake. They see an American government that won’t even justify the reasoning behind the Koran burnings (I refuse to change the way I spell Koran to make the followers of Mohammed happy).

The pages of the Korans in question were interlineated by the hands of the practitioners of the religion of peace. Karzai should be thanking our military, not condemning it, since writing in a Koran is a major desecration in and of itself. The Korans were part of an entire cache of terrorist materials, manuals and messages between jihadis. The only error the military made was to let the local bloodthirsty and perpetually indignant beheaders know that the Korans were being destroyed. They should have burned the evidence behind high walls in private with no notice to anyone from the outside.

Crocker joined General Allen in announcing that they are really, really, really sorry, but the Koran burning and accompanying murders won’t affect the timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan. Oh, yeah? I’ll bet we’ll see an all-new timetable within the next few weeks. And despite the boost that will give jihadis who will say “we drove the British out, then we drove the Russians out, and now we’ve driven the Americans out,” it would probably be a good idea. If we’re not going to secure our bases, our embassy, and anywhere an American soldier goes, we should get them out of harm’s way—now! If we’re not going to issue orders to shoot first and ask questions later, it’s time to leave. While you’re pondering this, remember that two of the murdered Americans were officers shot in the back of the head in the supposedly secure Afghan Interior Ministry building.

And to put the frosting on this s—t cake, we have an American ambassador, in the enemy’s homeland, condemning American soldiers in advance and promising that those who made a [questionable] mistake will be criminally prosecuted. The Afghans are counting on it, and we won’t let them down. This is much juicier than the ridiculous war crimes charges against four Navy SEALs who gave nasty looks to a mass-murdering Islamic inmate captured on a battlefield. Our only hope is that the result of this traitorous act by the administration will meet with the same results as the SEALs prosecution. Total acquittal.

So let me summarize. Burn in hell, Barack Obama. Burn in hell, Hillary Clinton. Burn in hell, Ryan Crocker. Burn in hell, political generals. Burn in hell, Hamid Karzai. Burn in hell, Taliban. And burn in hell, all of you cave-dwelling bastards in Afghanistan.

Ite, missa est.

My sentiments exactly. These people "LOATHE" the military with a religious zeal. What is worse is that they(BO,HC,RC and all the rest) think of our military people as Tin Soldiers to throw away when the game is over. November can't come soon enough.

Lawhawk, do you think you could be a little clearer in your summary - I'm having trouble understanding it? WOW!

Joel: The combination of their prissy anti-military stance with their complete failure to understand American exceptionalism and Western civilization is undermining the ability of the West to stand up against the growing threat of Islamofascism. And obviously, they don't care.

I've had it with these cretins. They (the Afghans) are not worthy of any consideration on our part. It occurred to me the other day that a very effective tactic in dealing with the rioters would be to go in with overwhelming force, then subject them to "decimation" in the literal Roman sense. Bloody-minded and probably deserving of a war crimes charge? Well, yes, but it would probably permanently break their spirit.

T-Rav; Have you noticed how the politically-correct constantly defend the apologies by telling us we have to respect Afghan culture? Respect what? A thousand years of murderous infighting and complete disregard for human life?

Decimation sounds almost too calculating to me, and it only takes out 10% of the potential murderers. I think it makes more sense just to mow down the entire crowd as it advances on the troops or the embassy. That makes it good faith belief that Americans were in reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm, which is not a war crime. BUT, since the UN representative in Afghanistan has already joined in the demands for trial and criminal conviction of the Koran-burners, I don't expect much of the rest of the world to agree that it's self-defense to stop a murderous mob by any means necessary.

I have heard good things about Crocker in the past. (Micheal Yon, I think) And I do have to admit that in that segment you quoted of his, I heard more "Karzai can't punish Americans" rather than "we're gonna fry these guys that burned this book".

However, I'm still standing with my previous suggestion of a parking lot (Ripley's way). Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan need somewhere to put their rusty carts...

well, Hawk - I've spent my morning getting infused with Remicade only to get home and find we are under another tornado warning for the next 20 minutes so I'm going to sign off for now. good post, as always.

rlaWTX: I read what Crocker was saying the first time in the more favorable light that you see. But then I realized it simply meant that instead of the Afghans trying the soldiers, America will do the dirty work for them. That doesn't obviate the deleterious effects of the perpetual apologies, and it still contains the strong stench of guilty until proven innocent. If Crocker had said "the Afghans know that if there is to be a trial, it will be in an American court," I would agree with you. But that's not what he said, nor is it what he indicated. I read it in the context of the entire plethora of apologies, and "we'll take care of these criminals ourselves" simply seems a more accurate interpretation.

Crocker is a bit of a chameleon. As a fan of Michael Yon, I remember him making his somewhat favorable comments about Crocker before the Obama administration gave him his new marching orders. Remember, Crocker has served under both Bush and Obama and seems perfectly capable of pandering to any philosophy so long as it aggrandizes his own career.

Tennessee: Stay safe, and let us know how things turn out. At least you get warnings. We get our earthquake warnings after the fact. LOL

I too am under a tornado watch. Well, I checked out the weather channel and it tells me that it will pass a good 100 miles north of me. Still, it is a tornado and that means it is unpredictable. Along about 4:00 pm my time, the tornado will have happened or it will pass. My guess is it will pass.

Joel: Tornadoes scare the hell out of me. I've been through two hurricanes, multiple earthquakes, and only one tornado. Guess which one still sticks out in my mind. And now that I have a root cellar/bomb shelter/storm cellar, tornadoes are about the only thing I don't have to worry about. How's that for irony?

As I said to Tennessee, stay safe.

All clear here for now where I live, and still standing. We did have a funnel touchdown Wednesday night in the county and there must have been another one this afternoon.

The apology tour pisses me off as well. The president has good kids in harm's way, and does not support them. That makes him as A.H. in my book.

God bless Texas and Sam Houston (it's also his birthday!)

Can we give Karzai the Ambassador in trade for prosecuting any soldiers for burning a book. He can do with him what he wants to, no questions asked. Or maybe we can burn a copy of our Constitution as penance?

Tennessee: glad you're OK. The real problem is that enough of these abject apologies amount to an admission of guilt, prejudicing any future jury or tribunal. The more they apologize, the more it becomes necessary for the political generals to "do something." And it has obviously emboldened even our alleged allies to attack what they consider American barbarism (see the UN demand for swift prosecution, apologies not being enough).

Unknown said...

Bev: As far as I'm concerned, we could turn over the entire ambassadorial corps to them. They're worth about one soldier's life. I thought Obama had already burned the Constitution. How about the Declaration of Independence instead?

Joel Farnham said...

Well, my family and I survived. LawHawk, you and my wife have something in common. A healthy fear of tornadoes.

Unknown said...

Joel: Glad to hear you're OK too. I tried getting over my visceral reaction to tornadoes by using "desensitization" methods. I watched Twister multiple times. And just like getting over my fear of spiders by watching Arachnophobia, it didn't work. LOL

T-Rav said...

I became desensitized by living in Tornado Alley my entire life. I was very scared of storms as a kid, and I'm still not fond of thunder, lightning, and such; but these days I don't pay that much attention unless there's a tornado warning out for our county. And I don't get really concerned unless the sky turns green. When you see that, it's time to make your peace with God.

Tell us how you really feel Lawhawk…ha. This is exactly what I expect from these dimwits, you see, the only reason they don’t like us is because we haven’t explained our position well enough. The Islamo-Goons are not completely stupid, they know when they’re dealing with a feckless twit, Barry, and will treat him as such. Of course the animals roaming around Afghanistan wilding are very much like our liberals, their master clicks his fingers, and wa-la, instant Astroturf, what the Hell, there’s not much house work to be done in a cave. It’s time to get the Hell out of Afghanistan, with the admonishment, “get out of line, and we’ll not invade but one well placed nuke will settle the dispute!” God, I hate these bastards as well.

T-Rav: I guess it depends a lot on what you're used to. I was shipped off every summer when I was little to my aunt's farm in Waterloo, Iowa. I was visiting my cousins in Cedar Falls when the tornado hit. No damage in Cedar Falls, and my cousins took the whole thing very calmly. But I could still hear that awful sound that twisters make. It cut a swath through Waterloo, and sucked all the glass out of my aunt's huge greenhouse. They were perfectly calm as well. On the other hand, they were out in California visiting us when we had a moderate earthquake. We just kept doing our thing as if nothing was happening, but they looked like they had just seen the devil himself. They talked about that earthquake for years to come. Good thing they weren't there for one of the big ones.

Stan: Excellent summary. And as for the intelligence of the Islamofascists, some of their leaders are smart enough to take advantage of an American president with the spine of a jellyfish. But for the average Afghan troglodyte, intelligence is unnecessary. Even a dog can smell fear.

It is difficult to keep a civil tongue when dealing with the machinations of these leftist trolls. And honestly that is what Barack and Company are...

Hateful little trolls that seem to think everything is a politcal angle.

What gets me is that the violence and bloodshed that is going on over there would not be happening had Barack not immediately sought to appease the faux peace activists by apologizing.

HAd Obama stood firm and announced that there was no apology necessary and no wrong doing on the part of America soldiers because the Al Queada terrorists had already desecrated these Quarans and burning them was the only respectful thing to do then things would be differenct. I do not beleive that the demonstrations would be out there and I do beleive that Al Queada might be denying that they wrote in the Korans.

BO is a travesty.
