Sexy Currency

Let’s talk about sex. Whoo hoo! Yep, sex, sex, sex. It turns out Obama’s gay marriage stance isn’t going down too well. It’s now ok to look at kiddie porn in New York, so long as you don’t own it. And Canada is about to issue a pornographic $20 bill. Oh, yeah.

Issue One: Gay Rage. Yesterday, Obama came out of the closet on behalf of something he’s always believed in deeply but previously refused to support for no reason whatsoever except that he wasn’t evolved enough to act on his beliefs until Joe Biden evolved him: gay marriage. Yep. Now gay marriage will be the law of the land. Oh, wait. . . there’s some fine print here. Hmm. Has Obama lied again?

Indeed he has. Right after Obama decided to declare his support for gay marriage, people with brains (i.e. conservative) began to snicker that Obama was trying to mislead his supporters. By last night, his supporters had caught on. In a rather nasty article, Gawker noted that Obama’s promise was all smoke and mirrors. Observe:

“It seems fairly clear from the network's coverage that his announcement amounts to much less than meets the eye. He now believes that gay couples should be able to marry. He doesn't believe they have a right to do so. This is like saying that black children and white children ought to attend the same schools, but if the people of Alabama reject that notion—what are you gonna do?”
Oh, the irony of accusing Obama of supporting modern segregation. I love it when liberals get all self-righteous on each other. Perhaps they can now call him an Uncle Tom like they do to Clarence Thomas?

In any event, the tone of the article is downright rude, like when they called Obama’s state’s rights evasion: “a half-assed, cowardly cop-out.” And I suspect the tone will only get worse over the coming weeks because one thing the gay lobby is not is civil. The fun is just beginning and it couldn’t have happened at a worse time with his campaign struggling to find its footing.

Issue Two: I Own What? In 2009, Professor James D. Kent of Marist College in New York was convicted of promoting a sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography, i.e. kiddie porn. But part of his conviction was just overturned. Why? Because the evidence was found in his web browser’s cache, which stores everything you’ve looked at, and he argued that he was not even aware his browser had a cache, so he can’t possibly have knowingly possessed the porn.

New York’s appellate level court agreed that images found in a cache are not proof of possession. Kent’s conviction still stands for the 13,000 images of 8-9 year old girls in lingerie which he had on his harddrive, but apparently those in the browser don’t count as him having “dominion and control over the images.” Now, on the one hand, I can understand that a browser may capture an inadvertent image. I’ve been re-directed to all kinds of places I never wanted to be and those images get into the cache, and it shouldn’t be a crime to have a couple such images stumble their way onto your computer. But give me a break, there is no doubt he was out there looking for this stuff and was just too stupid to clean out his cache. What this ruling does is essentially make is legal to look at kiddie porn in New York so long as you don’t save it to your harddrive. That’s like saying it should be illegal to possess heroin, but it’s not illegal to shoot up on it so long as you use somebody else’s stash.

Issue Three: Porno Dollars. Finally, Canada, i.e. Northern Maine, will be issuing a new $20 dollar bill in November, and it isn’t going over too well. That’s largely because they picked a stupid design. Apparently, a focus group which looked at the bill thought it was “too pornographic” because it contains three naked women clinging to the 9/11 Twin Towers (in America). Here’s the bill, eh:
Interestingly, the structure is not the 9/11 Twin Towers, it is a memorial called the Vimy Memorial, a wartime memorial honoring thousands of Canadian servicemen and which symbolizes the unity between France and Canada. And the topless chicks are known as the Chorus, and they represent Justice and Peace, Truth and Knowledge, Hope, Charity, Honor and Faith. Here is a photo of the memorial.
Personally, I think the bill is uglier than a sewer of Pelosi. Plus, I’m wondering why no one was offended by the swamp monster wearing the tee-shirt with the old lady on it? But I won’t laugh too hard at our neighbors from the Moose Realm because I’m sure our next dollar won’t be much better. In fact, here’s a sneak peek. . .

At least it’s not a damn coin.

Oh boy. That Obama "0" dollar strikes a little too close to home!

I can't wait for the whole gay marriage thing to blew up on oldBama. It sounds like he tried to sucker his supporters. That's a bad idea.

The Moose Realm. LOL! That is an ugly bill!

DUQ said...

Oh and did see Romney bullied some kind a thousand years ago? Clearly he's no longer qualified to run for president since he did as a child what Obama has been doing to us as an adult.

We are either witnessing Barry’s brilliant 2012 campaign, or the flailing about of someone whose never been challenged, and by every metric is going to be beaten like a red headed step child on 11/6/12. Bear in mind this evening he’s attending a fundraiser at George (Everett) Clooney’s house, I bet David Geffen’s going to write and extra big check. I wonder if that has anything to do with his fearless non-announcement.

AndrewPrice said...

DUQ, Don't spend all that $0 in one place!

They gay marriage thing is going to drag around his neck for some time to come. He made a big deal of acting like he was about to promise exactly what they want and then he gave them a fake promise. They are going to hound him until he gives him the full thing.

And yeah, that's an ugly bill.

AndrewPrice said...

DUQ, I honestly didn't pay attention. Romney apologized and moved on -- that's the best way to handle it. And frankly, if all they can find is that he did something stupid as a kid, then they have real problems.

AndrewPrice said...

Stan, I think we're looking at a guy who has no idea how to run a campaign, has never had to defend a record, and finally ran into a candidate who didn't implode. That's what happens when you run an empty suit for President. I have seen no evidence of any political competence from this administration.

The timing on the gay thing is kind of interesting. Biden started it, but the MSM really ran with it. It's almost like they wanted to back him into a corner on the issue. And he has failed their test. Now we need to see who backs down first. My guess is it will be Obama and he'll have to clarify his evolution.

When marriage is reduced to a mere matter of sexual plumbing, "if it feels good, do it," and confused partnerships, the very fabric of American society has come unraveled.

As for the Canadian scrip, the naked ladies aren't too offensive, but why is Queen Elizabeth peering out of someone's pants? Or am I looking at it wrong? Where's Rorschach when I need him?

I actually had no idea where I was going when I clicked your sex link. I'm glad it was just YouTube!

Even one of my most left-leaning friends on Facebook chimed in with something to the effect of "Thank-you for saying the same thing Dick Cheney said five years ago!"

And yeah, while y'all know my feelings about the subject, even I find myself wondering, "Well, if he thinks it's a state issue, then he should theoretically have no problem with NC's decision, should he...?"

That Canadian dollar looks like an oil-on-water pattern that formed completely by accident and just happens to look like a building. :-)

Andrew,

You are just full of odd knowledge today.

I don't think people will notice anything odd about the bills though.

On Obama, I never thought he was that great a campaigner.

It is interesting about his recent campaign. If it were any one else, they would have already been stopped.

AndrewPrice said...

Lawhawk, I figured it was a t-shirt on a swamp monster. Either way, I can't explain it! LOL!

I don't think the topless women is pornographic either, but apparently their focus groups thought it was.

I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the gay marriage thing. I think Obama has messed with the wrong group this time because they gay lobby is notoriously nasty.

AndrewPrice said...

Scott, I'm glad you clicked the link! I love that song.... "this AIDS thing's not working..." LOL!

If Obama really did believe it was a state's right issue, then yes, he should be fine with whatever the people of NC wanted. But I'll tell you honestly that I don't think Obama cares either way. I think he only cares to the extent that his constituents care. And since gays want it and blacks hate it, he has to walk a fine line. His announcement yesterday was an attempt to make the gays happy without actually giving them anything. From what I'm seeing, they are catching on now and they aren't happy.

The Canadian dollar is truly ugly. It looks like a weak watercolor painting which ran in the rain. And I have no idea what the swamp monster is supposed to be?

AndrewPrice said...

Joel, It's that kind of day! :)

I personally think the bill is just ugly. But apparently their focus groups are all freaking out over the nudity and what they think is the American WTC. Maybe they should go for a mythical Indian? ;)

Obama's campaign is truly horrible and this gay thing is just the latest example of it all falling apart on him. The timing is horrible. His attempt to still have it both ways while claiming he's taking a principled stand will blow up on him because his supporters want more.

And the attack on Romney for what he did as a child is downright pathetic. What's next? Original sin?

His whole campaign is amateur hour.

ellenB said...

I hate that they keep trying to take away the dollar and turn it onto a darn coin. But I'd still take a Sacajawea coin over an Obama dollar.

That is a disturbing ruling. I can see where you don't want to be arresting people for something that may be on thier computer without knowledge, but there's no way he didn't seek those images out.

Anonymous said...

To everyone here, who didn't do something similar to what Romney did as a kid? I have yet to find any such person who didn't.

AndrewPrice said...

Ellen, I agree, I hate that they keep trying every five years or so to issue a dollar coin. Grrr.

I agree about the ruling too. I find it amazing that they would conclude that as a matter of law, something found in a computer cache can't be considered evidence of possession. The biggest problem with the issue is that this creates an amazing "safe harbor." All you need to do now is set up a server with the pictures somewhere where it's legal and then people in NY can visit that site without legal consequence.

AndrewPrice said...

obiwan, Shhhhhh! Clearly, Romney is the only person who ever misbehaved as a child.

I find the whole attack pathetic, and Romney's response was perfect -- apologize for being stupid and move on. If they try to make a big deal of this, they will only expose themselves as fools who have no other issues.

Seriously, think about it: "sure, none of you have jobs, the economy is in the crapper and the country is nearly bankrupt.... but he was a jerk as a kid, so vote for me!"

K said...

Wow. The comments section seems to fill up much more rapidly when the subject is sex. Just sayin. And next time more pictures.

What? Obama made another worthless promise in exchange for campaign funds? Hey, it's not about the substance - it's about the style.

Obama = cool. Bookit.

Unknown said...

Andrew: I agree. He has managed to walk into two buzz saws, one coming at him from the left, the other from the right. But he will raise a lot of money in Hollywood tonight at the pervert parties amongst the rich and infamous.

Anonymous said...

Even more funny Andrew, is my wait for Obama to say what dog meat tastes like, I mean, if the Vietnamese foreign exchange students at Penn State can tell me it tastes good, why can't Obama?

AndrewPrice said...

K, Strangely, the topic of sex does seem to draw more attention. I wonder why? LOL!

It's been hilarious watching the reaction. He built this up as such a big deal, like he was about to grant his supporters the thing they've most wanted... and then he spit out all these carefully worded sentences intended to deceive. And his people heard exactly what they wanted to hear, just like in 2008, and now they are quickly learning that they were lied to. This is going to build and build until Obama is forced to finally give them what they want.

tryanmax said...

What I don't understand is this: There are currently seven states that allow gay marriage. Why don't the gays (yes, I said that) all move there are make it "Gaydonia"? It's not like we live in China where you have to have the government's permission to move. Why would anyone want to stay someplace that is obviously hostile to the lifestyle they pursue?

tryanmax said...

I actually like dollar coins. You can give all of your dollar coins to me.

AndrewPrice said...

Lawhawk, True. And those buzz saws are still coming because he still hasn't managed to take a position that will satisfy either group.

What I think is funny is how you and I instantly spotted the reality of his "promise" and how his supporters didn't, even though this is their issue and they supposedly knew exactly what they wanted.

And let me tell you, the tone of that article was truly nasty and more is coming.

AndrewPrice said...

obiwan, But wait, that happened when Obama was a child and we shouldn't hold his childhood against him. . . we only hold childhood incidents against Republicans!

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, The answer is simple: because this isn't about gays obtaining rights, it's about forcing everyone else to accept them. That's all this has ever been. That's why they don't care about civil unions, i.e. ALL the rights of marriage without the technical name.

It's the same thing with militant atheists, their goal is not to have the freedom to be atheists, their goal is stamping out religion.

So much of liberalism is like that, it's about forcing others to bend to your pet peeves.

Anonymous said...

Andrew, what I find even more hillarious is why Obama can't respond in a joking manner to some of what's brought back against him. I mean, if my foreign exchange Vietnamese neighbors at Penn State had no problem admitting that little dogs tasted good barbecued back in Vietnam, why can't Obama also admit it?

AndrewPrice said...

I hate the idea of dollar coins. I never carry coins and I don't want to have to start. And even more, I hate the fact they keep trying to jam politically correct characters onto these dollars. That makes it seem like an attempt to shove ideology onto us more than anything.

AndrewPrice said...

obiwan, I agree. He's utterly humorless. We saw that at the WHCA dinner and on several other occasions. He simply has no ability to poke fun at himself.

tryanmax said...

Andrew, I knew that. It was my frustration asking.

ellenB said...

obiwan and Andrew, The double standard annoys me to no end. If Romney acted like Obama, the left would be attacking him as a humorless monster.

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, I figured, but it was worth pointing out nevertheless.

AndrewPrice said...

Ellen, That's the way the left does it. They never hold their own to any standards while they blast conservatives for anything and everything. That's why conservatives have had to learn (and some still must learn) that they can't fall for liberal smears.

Doc Whoa said...

We should put naked people on our currency. How about a naked Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama all hugging each other! LOL!

Doc Whoa said...

This gay marriage thing is going to eat Obama alive. I don't care either way on the issues, but he really has picked the wrong group to tease. They are going to hound him mercilessly until they get what they want. He would have been better off never saying anything.

rlaWTX said...

Doc!!! Brain bleach!!!!!!

Doc Whoa said...

rla, That would be awesome currency if you ask me. Think of the fun we could all have spending those bills!

AndrewPrice said...

Doc, That's uh... creative. Scary, but creative. Blech!

AndrewPrice said...

I agree about that the gay marriage issue will be a problem. Now that's he's "teased" them (as you put it), they aren't going to rest until they get what they want. And the longer he drags it all out, the more it will be in the news that he's trying to have it both ways. This is a sure fire way to upset everyone.

AndrewPrice said...

rlaWTX and Doc, Brain bleach might be a good thing right about now... though I admit that would be pretty funny currency. I can see them all toasting too. And the bill should have a front and a back. LOL!

Ed said...

A couple of Hollywood types are now claiming that Obama-Biden scripted the whole thing. LOL!

I don't understand why countries always come up with such awful currency? It would seem much simpler than that.

AndrewPrice said...

I doubt it. this sounds like Biden-induced idiocy. Pretending that it was intentional is a way to try to act like this isn't a disaster.

AndrewPrice said...

LOL! I see you've found Doc's suggestion. It is a daring suggestion, I'll give it that! :)

tryanmax said...

To use a word that our president is fond of, the amount of spin responding 0bama's gay remarks is unprecedented. With everyone clamoring to come up with why this is good for the president, you just know that it's not. The best one that I heard (already forgot where) was that this will cause the black community (being of one mind as they are) to rethink their attitudes toward gays. Sheesh!

As to the currency, I think we should confirm all the conspiracy theories on the left by putting corporate logos on all the coins and bills. I'm personally lobbying to put the Quaker Oats man on the $2 bill. (Or coin. You know it's coming...)

AndrewPrice said...

tryanmax, That is usually a great test of what is really going on. When everyone who is "invested" in an issue feels the need to tell you how just absolutely wonderful something is and how it far exceeds the expectations. . . not of the doubters, mind you, but of even the truest of true believers. . . then you can be pretty sure it's much worse than even the doubters claimed it would be.

I am seeing desperate sounding attempts to claim this was brave and visionary, and will save Obama in November. It all sounds like they are searching for a way to sell this Edsel.

I like that idea about the Quaker Oats man -- or Captain Crunch. And they should make them in odd denominations: "Count Chocula will now adorn the $2.37 bill."

tryanmax said...

With all the corporate logos and mascots available, we'll need many more denominations, to be sure. I personally would like to see them start minting the 1/10th cent coin so I can pay with exact change at the gas station. I think Mini will be uncontested for that one.

AndrewPrice said...

Wow, you're an evil man. And I'll be you want that to be a HUGE coin too, don't you? Like the old silver dollars. Could you imagine how many people would curse your name if that came to pass?! LOL!

tryanmax said...

I hadn't thought of that, but that's a good idea! I want people to start carrying their money around in giant bags and satchels like in ye olde dayes .

AndrewPrice said...

Yep... the most hated man in America. We should suggest that to the Democrats that this would somehow punish the rich. They would do it. Then you could have your new old-school world and the Democrats could be hunted down like rodents by the voters. And to make sure they don't switch to credit cards or checks, we could require that those be at least as large as the novelty checks Publisher's Clearing House uses!

Anonymous said...

Well Doc, the big points I have here are 1)Obama didn't take Chuck Norris' words of wisdom seriously enough, and he's giving away that you can bait or provoke Obama into stances, which was pretty much shown when Obama followed, yes followed Biden into making the statements that he did. Meanwhile, Boehner and Romney reiterated the relevance of jobs and the economy, and Romney delivered the quote about the Red Sox that is going down into my quotebook.

darski said...

I have to agree that the $20.oo bill is not great but I am old enough to have known a lot of people who lost loved ones at Vimy Ridge. Show me a poppy and I get all "John McRae-ish) But then I am old enough to remember when all the money had the queen on it and even to when all the money had the king on it. I can only admit (blushing) that we have libtards up here and they get all the gubmint money to do anything that gets done. I will admit that I like colourful money - good for old eyes.

RE: Obama - it seems he can't win for being stupid. ROTFL

AndrewPrice said...

darski, Exactly, Obama can't win because he's an idiot. LOL!

On the currency, I think it's a shame that these people didn't recognize what is clearly an important monument in Canada and that they thought these statues were "pornographic." That's almost the punchline of a joke to think a famous statute is pornographic just because it's topless.

I personally hate the trend away from putting famous people on currency. This is all about political correctness and trying to wipe out the things that give the country a common history.

AndrewPrice said...

obiwan, I think it's pretty clear that Obama can easily be baited into taking stances. That's a major weakness.

Couldn't happen to a more divisive President since there ain't any as divisive as Obama.

The idiots in Seattle obviously didn't get the memo, yet. Guess they didn't read the Gawker post before cheering Obama for his (faux) ballsy move.

O Canada! Say it ain't so. While I'm all for the memorial being on this bill the rest looks so...random (and not in a good way).

That's gotta be one of the stupidest rulings yet irt the NY child porn case!
I don't get the reasoning behind it (since there ain't none).

AndrewPrice said...

Indi, Yep, that's Obama all right!

Ben, LOL! It's a fun song. :)

I think only half the left got the memo, the other half are celebrating that apparently gay marriage is now the law of the land. Give them time. They'll figure out it... they're just slow.

The NY porn case is bizarre. I don't understand it either. They've basically created a "safe haven" for looking at kiddie porn.
