Recall! Recall! Tweet! Tweet! Bang! Bang!

After several sore losers declared that the stunning defeat of the recall effort to remove Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker “is the end of democracy” and “the end of America as we know it,” a few [hundred] non-violent tweeters put it a bit stronger. Now you must remember that Republicans use warlike rhetoric and David Axelrod has called conservatives “contract killers." So let’s take a quick look at the reasoned, peaceful way Democrats handle an electoral loss.

While the Democratic pundits ran away from the loss, blaming the disaster on “outside money,” the Supreme Court (resulting from the Citizens United case), the misalignment of Mars and Venus, distortion of the facts about public sector pay and pensions, and pretty much anything but liberalism and public sector union excesses, a few of the rank and file decided that Walker had to go. Not by recall. They tried that. They were a bit more pointed. One might think they were even a little angry and ready to implement the ever-popular leftist mantra “by any means necessary.”

Here are a few Twitter examples of how the peaceable left thinks Walker should be dealt with:

@DONTTouchTheFRO: They gone JFK Scott Walker. Shoot his mfn head off BANG BANG!!! *chief keef voice*...
@SeXXX_Symbol_: Somebody need to Abe Lincoln Scott Walker cave frog lookin ass. ...
@realwesleywess: Someone from the NRA should shoot Scott Walker in the head, GTA-style. ...
@caleb_white: Scott walker will die within the next week ive already payed for the hit ...

And here’s how they plan to get to Governor Walker through his family:

@SwaggedTf_Out: NBS I Know What School Scott Walker Son Go To

Nice, huh? I’ll be interested to see how the FBI and DHS react to all of this. The truth is, they’ll probably do nothing, with the possible exception of investigating me for writing an article containing certain key words which trigger automatic followup of “dangerous threats” used on the internet. I will note that these are equal opportunity threateners—they mentioned Democrat John Kennedy. My assessment of the intelligence level of these clowns is that they probably don’t know JFK was a Democrat who signed an executive order granting collective bargaining rights to public employees (even FDR thought that was far too radical an idea).

I believe that Barack Obama will jump into this fray immediately, just as he did to support the recall and the Democratic candidate. Which is to say, he will do absolutely nothing. I just don’t picture him calling Eric Holder into his office and ordering him to do something about threats that are direct violations of federal law. He’s too busy keeping his skirts clean for the pleasure of his radical base. And while I’m at it, did you catch the one tweet Obama did in support of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (Walker’s opponent for the recall and loser of the previous regular election)? Tweeted The One: “I stand by him.” Isn’t that the kind of thing you say after your best friend is arrested for drunk driving or a political ally has been caught online with his pants down (literally)?

Democrats have been hectoring Republicans and conservatives for “harsh language” which might result in future violence by the deranged. I am now patiently waiting for their condemnation of these Walker-haters who have gone two or three steps beyond simple harsh language. These threats aren’t even veiled. But then Scott Walker is a Republican who stepped on the toes of the unions and the something-for-nothing 99%ers, so maybe we should just overlook a little intemperate language.

“Liberal projection.” Yet another example of the blatant hypocrisy of the left, they are guilty of what they accuse others of - - liberals lie. If this had been a Tea Party person, or persons, the MSM would be caterwauling, until the cows come home (Southern colloquialism meaning, long time). I did just hear that it is being investigated by law enforcement on Fox & Friends, we’ll see.

*Shrugs* In fairness, crazy online talk from nobodies rarely makes the news.

Which isn't to say that law enforcement shouldn't chat with the nutjobs in question.

Stan, LOL! You Southerners think everything you say is a Southern thing!

Don't forget, there was also a protestor who said of Lt. Gov. Kleefisch, "Hopefully the colon cancer gets her before we do." (Kleefisch is a cancer survivor.)

Welcome to the new tone. I'm talking about a lot of similar stuff today, include some Wisconsin stuff.

Anthony: We know that the vast majority of these anonymous tweeters and e-mailers are cuckoo. And of course, that's been the point so many times when the MSM goes bonkers over some metaphorical phrase a conservative uses. The point here is that the MSM will make front page news out of a conservative saying a Democrat has been "targeted," demanding full-scale censorship of all conservative speech. But when you get truly vicious things like those pointed out in this article, the MSM is totally silent.

The thrust of the article is not the threats, but the MSM's non-reaction to them.

Stan: Though I take most of this nonsense with a grain of salt, some of those tweets were pretty darn nasty. I hope Fox is right. For all the empty crap that flies around on Twitter, we do have to remember that a threat can rise to the level of a criminal act.

Now, about those cows on my property. When do they go home?

after class last night, I asked my g'parents about the WI coverage. I was impressed that MSM covered it at all - but when I asked I was told that MSM DID talk about how much money was spent - BY GOP: "Walker won WI because of $$$", not all the bazillions spent by Dems, PACs, Unions, etc. Bah-humbug.

nasty, obnoxious, idiotic, unrealistic nincompoops.

[OT: saw bumper sticker locally - "How many soldiers per gallon does your SUV use?" also had a bunch of other bizarro stuff... "9/11: Inside Job", etc. Seriously??? People actually believe that crap?]

tryanmax: But my mom used to say that all the time, and she was born and raised in Chicago. LOL I know she would have said of Obama that "I don't trust him any farther than I can throw him."

T-Rav: I think some of the worst things I heard, and not from anonymous tweeters or scumbag protesters, were the things they said about Justice Thomas. That included hoping his wife would feed him lots of high-fat foods so he would die soon of a heart attack (Thomas has high blood pressure).

Andrew: It's the new civility. I look forward to your article. The hypocrisy and partisanship of the MSM is worth an entire book.

rlaWTX: I haven't seen this much vile speech since the Vietnam War. In fact, it's worse now because these critters can reach a much larger audience through new technology like Twitter and the blogs. The internet is a wonderful thing, but like most good things, it has its dark side.

I love all the excuses for the union/Democratic losses. I've heard this before, up close and personal. Southern segregationists (mostly Democrats) blamed the loss of their white-dominated society on "outside agitators."

T-Rav said...

rla, as many have pointed out on Twitter and I have repeated, our side used out-of-state money, theirs used out-of-state voters.

T-Rav: And once again, it all depends on whose ox is being gored.

I will be leaving shortly for a followup medical appointment. The annoying part is that the appointments take about fifteen or twenty minutes, but the round-trip is over two hours, not to mention about thirty dollars worth of gas. There were some definite advantages to living in San Francisco, including being able to walk to the doctor's office. Now, it's a day trip. Please keep commenting, and I'll respond as soon as I get back.

I know tryanmax, my Dad is from Indiana, raised on farms, he also used the phrase. However being born and raised in the deep South, I sometimes feel I need an interpreter, even when I type…ha.

When do the cows go home Lawhawk: In a looooong time.

T-Rav said...

We're being left unsupervised? Does this mean I have license to shoot any and all adorable creatures in the face?

tryanmax said...

Stan, I think thanks to the Food Network, the south has moved north. When I was a kid, I didn't know a chit from a grit, but now I am well-versed in comfort food. And along with the food comes the language.

T-Rav said...

Stan and tryanmax, I read some time ago that grits are now more popular in parts of NYC (where Southern blacks have moved) than in Atlanta (no longer a Southern city). Funny how things work out.

BevfromNYC said...

T-Rav- when has anyone been able to stop you kitten abuse?? ;-)

BevfromNYC said...

And to all - You miss the point. Don't you know that when Libs say hateful violent things they don't really mean them?? Not like Conservatives who are quite literal all the time Geez, get with the program, will ya'?

rlaWTX said...

Bev, they might mean them, but the targets are all deserving of the abuse!!!!!!

T-Rav, no.

K - I am hiding under my desk!

Kit, the BREs can be pretty vicious when responding to inferred attacks upon the high quality of this site. Wear shin guards!

Since I was away, I had to hold my breath about the outcome, and it is all we could ask for. I do hope the threats are taken seriously. The bullshit analysis focusing on who spent more money was easily predictable.

"@SeXXX_Symbol_: Somebody need to Abe Lincoln Scott Walker cave frog lookin ass. ..."

Two points: First what is the problem you liberals have with cave frogs. I mean honestly, they hide out in caves and really only ever bother bats so I don't get the antagonism....

Second: How ironic that open minded tolerant liberals who are the paramount examples for ending racism as we know it would reference John Wilkes Booth and his redneck rhetoric about killing Lincoln for freeing the slaves.

Stan: I shouldn't tell you this, but the wandering herds on my property are down on the flat part of the property. When I go for my little jaunts into Bakersfield, I go off my driveways and my road and herd them with my old Chevy Suburban. It's a pain if I have to chase them on foot, but that bigass Chevy gets rid of them real quick.

Unknown said...

T-Rav: I have more than enough ground squirrels and jackrabbits for you to practice on. Just don't shoot ma dawg.

Unknown said...

tryanmax: I love most Southern food, but you can keep the grits. The deeper fried the better, including pork rinds. I can get many of those things around here (many displaced Southerners and hill folk in the area), but you should have seen the looks on the faces of waiters in San Francisco when I'd ask why they didn't serve some of those great Southern dishes.

And now you know why my arteries are clogged.

Unknown said...

T-Rav: Maybe I just never had grits cooked or served right. I like corn and things made from cornmeal. But something about them left me cold.

Unknown said...

Bev: Or they do mean them, but they're justified.

Unknown said...

rlaWTX: Oops, you got there ahead of me. I'm a little slow today. Must be those winding mountain roads.

Unknown said...

Tennessee: How about "your money, or your life?" That was always a good threat. I remember a great New Yorker cartoon. A guy is holding up this nebbishy victim. He says "your money, or your life." The nebbish has a quizzical look on his face, and a Life magazine under his arm.

Unknown said...

Indi: Thanks for the explication. I wasn't sure what the hell a cave frog was.

As for Lincoln, the whole paragraph they gave Lincoln in their history textbook wasn't as interesting as the entire chapter on Malcolm X. Besides, dead white men don't count in the liberal pantheon, even if they did have beards.

Bev: Remember, we only allow face-shooting if the critter isn't an endangered species, like the Delta smelt. BTW, once every three to four weeks I am suddenly attacked by my younger cat (Beegee) who starts jumping on my head and caterwauling. I make my vow, and then after the requisite five days, I forget that I need to get to the vet and have her spayed.

Unknown said...

Bev: And I forgot to mention that Kitty Kelly sits placidly in the middle of the room trying to figure out what the hell's going on with Begee. She doesn't remember her own trip to the vet.
