I'm Not Second Guessing Your Repugnance!

Slow Joe is at it again. Last time he was calling Tea Party supporters terrorists. Before that he was calling women lacrosse players “gazelles” and complaining that “the wrong people end up collecting the women” in the financial crisis. Now he's praising China’s “repugnant” forced abortion policy.

Starting in the 1970s, China introduced a policy that limits families to one child per couple. This includes criminal sentences and forced abortions for parents who violate the policy. Ostensibly, this was done because China was facing an over population problem -- although China’s population was actually declining at the time the policy was put into place.

As an interesting consequence of this policy, China is now facing two of the world’s most extreme demographic problems. First, the elimination of several generations of young has left China with the world’s worst retirement problem, as China’s elderly population far outweighs its productive population (4 retirees per worker) -- this is much worse than in the United States (3 workers per retiree). Secondly, because the Chinese prefer boys over girls, this meant that mostly girls were aborted or killed as infants. Thus, China is about to face the problem that there are 40 million more eligible bachelors than there are wives. To get a sense of how large this problem is, consider that this is the same number of marrying age males in Britain, France and Germany combined. It is also the entire population of California.

China’s single-child policy is largely responsible for both of these problems and there is serious pressure to end the policy. Even China’s official press is questioning the policy, which is highly unusual. Moreover, last month, one entire province demanded a waiver of the policy. It seems that the policy will soon end.

So what does this have to do with us?

American liberals were initially big fans of China’s one-child policy. Why? Well, the 1970s was the age of the next Global Ice Age, the Population Bomb, and fantasies of global famine. We were all going to starve by 1992. And let’s face it, liberals have always loved Eugenics.

But at some point, most liberals realized that forced abortion was not a very defensible thing. So they decided that China’s policy was not something they could publicly praise, even though many continue to support it in private. Indeed, even now, you will occasionally find liberals who openly defend the policy. For example, there was a laughable AP article last month that claimed that girls had it better under the one-child policy than they did before. Of course, that’s only the girls who aren’t killed as children or fetuses and aren’t imprisoned or forced to abort their own children. Moreover, the article failed to grasp that economically, the whole premise of its argument was crap. But hey, these are liberals, what do you expect?

Enter Slow Joe Biden.

Biden is in China for reasons unknown, possibly to get him out of town until the election or maybe as collateral for our bonds or maybe he just got lost on his way to see Santa? And let me tell you, the Chinese are not pleased. They have already had to cut off one of his speeches because it was too idiotic to be translated. Then they asked him what he thought about China’s one-child policy. Here is what Joe said:

“The Obama administration strongly opposes all aspects of China's coercive birth limitation policies, including forced abortion and sterilization. The vice president believes such practices are repugnant. He also pointed out, in China, that the policy is, as a practical matter, unsustainable. He was arguing against the one child policy to a Chinese audience.”
Oops, sorry, that’s what Biden’s spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said (and no, I did not make that name up). Here’s what Biden actually said:
“Your policy has been one which I fully understand--I'm not second-guessing--of one child per family.”
Feel free to compare the quotes, you may find a slight discrepancy. Either Barkoff is lying or Biden is “not second-guessing” China’s “repugnant” policy. . . or both. Who keeps letting this idiot out of his rubber room? Seriously, if I were Obama, I would have Biden shot to the moon and then get Huntsman to run as my VP.

Andrew, this is beyond reprehensible. I suppose (partly) in Biden's defense, he did go on to indicate that the policy would, as a practical matter, cripple China, as the press release said. But frankly, I don't care. This is totalitarianism at its very worst--taking power over one of the most sacred acts of humanity, the having of children. It's beyond immoral, and lovers of freedom would have expected the U.S. government to take a stand against such a thing.

AndrewPrice said...

T-Rav, It is beyond reprehensible, but don't think this is unexpected. Obama may officially oppose that policy, but if you will recall, in the Clinton years, they kept sending women back to China who were seeking abortions because they refused to consider that a threat that would justify granting sanctuary here. It wasn't until conservatives made a big deal about it that Clinton started granting those sanctuary requests.

The democrats simply don't see anything wrong with abortion -- forced or otherwise.

Andrew, Biden is a joke and this is just more evidence. Could you imagine what the MSM would be doing if he was a Republican?

P.S. Please don't suggest Obama take Huntsman. I'm sure Huntsman would do it and that would only help Obama. So don't give them any ideas! ;D

rlaWTX said...

how has Biden had a career in politics? how does he get elected to ANYTHING?

Does the "spokesperson" just send out "Where's What He Was Supposed To Say" reports? Or are they just "The Official Translations: Biden to English"?

Twit.

As for China - there's that reaping what you sow thing all played out in Technicolor... And for Dems - see paragraph above.

AndrewPrice said...

Don't worry Ed, I'm sure they've already thought of it! LOL!

Actually, not to get too conspiratorial, but could you imagine if they already planned it? Now that would be the world's biggest dirty trick -- to have the guy run in the Republican primary and then pick him for VP!

On Biden, you know the MSM would be having a field day with him. Every one of his almost daily stupid statements would lead the news and Democrats would goosestep to the microphones each day to call for his resignation. But he's a lefto, so they dutifully ignore it.

rlaWTX said...

and they are already using Huntsman's commercials against us, let's not let them replace the Biden albatross...

AndrewPrice said...

rlaWTX, I honestly don't know. All I can think of is that he's gotten lucky or the MSM has covered for him. There really isn't a group he hasn't insulted and there isn't a speech where he hasn't made a fool of himself.

I think what helps him is that the media just don't play these things up. When Democrats say stupid things, the media goes into denial. When Republicans say stupid things (or even when they don't) the MSM goes overtime on the attack.

And could you imagine being his spokesperson? "So, what idiocy do I need to deny today?" Talk about a depressing job!

On China, yep, this is what happens when you start playing God -- you get a royal mess that can cause problems for generation. And yet, there are still people on the left who are happy to push these same ideas on China and the rest of us. Go figure. Stupidity knows no bounds.

AndrewPrice said...

rlaWTX, Huntsman just infuriates me. He is the classic RINO -- not just someone whose beliefs are not consistent with being a Republican, but also someone who stabs our side in the back every time he speaks. He should be shoved out of the party and told to go hang with his friends on the left.

And anyone who endorses him should be tossed out as well.

Ed said...

Andrew and rla, I agree with that! We need to very publicly dump this jerk. People need to realize that he's no Republican or even a moderate. He's a Trojan Donkey.

AndrewPrice said...

Trojan Donkey, LOL! We should put that on a bumpersticker or T-shirt or something....

"Attention Democrats:
Vote for Huntsman, Our Trojan Donkey"

DUQ said...

You put your finger right on the reason I can't stand Huntsman. I don't care that he's a liberal, that just makes him irrelevant. What I do care about though is that he attacks Republicans. "anti-science"? What an ass. Anti-science is believing in global warming despite all the evidence to the contrary.

AndrewPrice said...

DUQ, As I said, it infuriates me that he is attacking Republicans right out of the Democratic playbook. And I'm sick of the anti-science charge. The real anti-science crowd is the left, which demands that we ignore truths that it doesn't like and which demands that we believe things, like global warming, with no basis in fact or science. They are the ones who are anti-science.

rlaWTX said...

Stealing this!

Andrew: I still contend that there was something toxic in the hair plugs that Biden had implanted years ago. He was always a little flaky, but when he disappeared then showed up with his wolfman hair-do, he had gone from flaky to outright nuts.

Maybe Biden was actually in China to oversee the construction of a new GE plant. Part of the administration's plan to create new jobs.

StanH said...

B-B-B-Biden is a blast, comedy relief for us and the rest of the world. It speaks volumes about the mentality of a democrat voter. I would expect when he’s sent to pasture in 2013 they’ll but a placard above his door, Welcome to the Bobby Hatch.

AndrewPrice said...

Lawhawk, It wouldn't surprise me that he went to see where GE is sending all of our jobs.

He really is getting worse. Or maybe he's just more noticeable now that he's the VP.... well, noticeable to us, not the MSM.

AndrewPrice said...

Stan, I think we should encourage him to run for President in 2016. After all, he's totally qualified, right? Former Senator, former one-term VP, current mental patient. He would be great as the Democratic nominee!

StanH said...

"Booby Hatch" sorry for typo.

T-Rav said...

All I want to know is, who is supporting Huntsman? Obviously not many--he can't get above 1%--but still, is Romney not enough of a RINO for them? What exactly does he bring to the table? I don't get it.

Also, purely hypothetical...suppose, and this is clearly not going to happen, but suppose that Huntsman somehow managed to get the nomination. Would we still vote for him?

AndrewPrice said...

That's ok, Stan, we understood! Where else would you put a Biden?

AndrewPrice said...

T-Rav, Short answer: no.

Long answer: #$%& no.

I don't know who is supporting him except maybe friends, family and a few fellow RINOs. I really can't see anyone who belongs in the Republican Party supporting him.

T-Rav said...

Andrew, sounds about right :-)

Obviously, that's never going to happen because he'll never gain traction, and if he somehow does, I will commit multiple instances of voter fraud to reverse it, but in late 2007, I was sure McCain was finished, so...you never know. I think he's the only one who thinks he has a shot at the nomination, though.

AndrewPrice said...

T-Rav, There's a big difference between McCain and Huntsman. McCain had the establishment behind him 100%. Huntsman has nobody.

Good idea on the voter fraud! If the Dems can do it, then so can we. :-)

I have concluded that Delaware contains the stupidest people in this country. I don't care what the reading level is in Louisianna or Mississippi. To elect this moron as your representative senator says volumes about your pool of potential candidates.

India has the same problem regarding Male:female ratio. There have been some interesting studies that when a population gets this out of balance usually violence ensues. I am really not worried about China coming after us. How much longer will it be before the testosterone in these two countries boil over and explode?

Both have huge populations. Both have large armies. Both have nukes. Both hate each other. Both have leaders that put little value on individual life. Messy, messy, messy. When it happens, the most important thing for us would be to STAY OUT OF THE WAY!

AndrewPrice said...

Koshcat, That's true. I wrote a little about that some time ago: LINK.

One of the problems with getting such a large excess of young males is that this tends to boil over in violence. With India and China both having this problem, both sharing an uncomfortable border about which they fight, both being fierce economic competitors, and both being very nationalistic in the first place.... a war is probably likely between them within the next 20 years. And I don't doubt this would probably result in a nuclear exchange at some level.

I hope we're smart enough to stay out of this, but then our history says we won't be that smart.

Another thing that is likely to occur is bride-napping, which has a fairly long history in that part of the world already. So places like Vietnam and Korean better watch out as well.

No matter how you slice it, this whole demographic problem could end up becoming a huge problem for that part of the world.

rlaWTX said...

Andrew, both your short and long answers to T-Rav were perfect.

As for China & India - if we manage to live through the nuclear fall-out, who would answer our customer service calls and make our everythings? we are doomed, doomed!!!

Koshcat said...

Interesting article on the "gay gene genocide". I am not as certain a specific "gene" will be identified. Human behavior especially sexual behavior is extremely complex. Is it nature? Is it nurture? I think it's both, but I really don't want to get into that.

More importantly is the development of ethics around these issues. Take embryonic stem cell research. Despite the promises by idiots such Biden, there has never been a single disease or disorder, even in mice "cured" with embryonic stem cells. In addition, I read a poll where at least a third of Americans had a fundamental problem with using embryonic stem cells. So, say by using embryonic stem cells, you could make superman walk again. Do you force that 30% to pay for it? Do you force a patient who may be against it to undergo therapy? What if it is a child? To get fresh tissue, will you need surrogate mothers pumping out embryos? Is this considered cannibalism since you are ingested another human being against his will? Do embryos have a will? None of these have been discussed or worked through. Adult stem cells may be able to do the same thing without ANY of these ethical questions. But, to a progressive, ethics are inconvenient.

One last thing, the Chinese have at least figured out how to populate the world without increasing their population. Give the girls up for adoption. Has anyone figured out how many girls (and they're essentially all girls) have left China this way? Should we send them back to prevent Armageddon? Give up free will for a good cause?

AndrewPrice said...

rlaWTX, That's hilarious! I guess we'll have to find someone else who doesn't speak English to not-answer our questions!

AndrewPrice said...

Koshcat, They do seem to have exported a lot of girls. Frankly, I can't see them wanting to go back, though I'm sure China will wish they would come back.

On the genetics issue, I think we really have reached a point where (to use a cliche) "science has gotten ahead of ethics." I know that liberals love to say that about things like nuclear bombs, but that's bunk because using a bomb or not is something that is well within human experience.

But we have NO experience dealing with clones and the possibility of growing people as organ donors or letting parents customize their kids. Nor do we truly understand what life is or when it begins. All of that raises HUGE ethical/moral and practical issues, but few people want to think about it. But what happens when kids start showing up in schools who've been genetically manipulated to make them "ideal"? And what do we do when parents start having fetuses to use as donor for their other kids? I think we need to think about this before it starts happening.

On the gay article, my point is that I think gays should look to the future and ask themselves if their allies really have their best interests at heart. With the issue of abortion in particular (but also any "science divorced from morality"), will they be better off or worse off? I think they may not like the answers they find. And again, it's better to look ahead before they wake up one day and hear "science discovers gay gene." So I would suggest that they should re-evaluate their relationship with pro-abortion groups.

T-Rav said...

I bet another potential effect of the high male preponderance will be that Thailand sees increasing demand for its "lady boys." (Okay, I know...that was gross.)

On Delaware, look at the last election. In terms of low intelligence, the South's got nothing on them.

AndrewPrice said...

T-Rav and Koshcat, Delaware? Is that really a state? I thought it was a suburb of Philly? Or a myth that people tell their kids... you better go to school, or you might end up voting for Joe Biden! ;-)

Ed said...

T-Rav, A lot of states deserve the title of stupidest state and few of them are in the South. California comes to mind as the lunatic state.

AndrewPrice said...

Ed and T-Rav, California would lead my list of stupidest states. And they seem to be proud of it too!

Koshcat said...

It seems to me that Lawhawk is blowing the curve in California so it doesn't look quite as stupid as it really is.

AndrewPrice said...

Koshcat, Yeah, he raises the curve, but this is still the state that elects Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi and Pete Stark and Maxine Waters, etc., etc., etc. ....

Lawhawk should leave the state so we can nuke it.

AndrewPrice said...

By the way, it looks like NYC will be hit with the hurricane, so let me wish all of you a safe and dry next few days.

Thanks. Yes, so an earthquake AND hurricane all in one week. I'm guessing the frogs, gnats and flies will becoming next week.

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, It does seem to be Wrath of God week, doesn't it? Maybe NYC should officially sacrifice some goats or something? I've got a VP you could throw into a volcano if you want? :-)

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, Christie in New Jersey is apparently calling for people to get away from the coast and is saying this could be "a 100 year event" in terms of the flooding, etc.

FINALLY! something we can get behind with the chinese. i say we follow their lead on this one. although, it would cut down on our fun after he opens his mouth.

Stay safe this weekend, Bev. To brighten your spirits, I hereby declare a reprieve on all kittens for the next few days. Enjoy.

I am all for sacrificing Ol' Joe, but I'm afraid that the "Gods" will just throw him back at us!

Hey, the really good news (or bad news depending on how you look at it) Obama may have to evacuate his vacation home.

T-Rav - Bless your generosity. So in that case, I will put down my club and will step from behind your front door...just for this weekend.

AndrewPrice said...

T-Rav, Check your e-mail...

AndrewPrice said...

Hey, You got an avatar! Cool!

AndrewPrice said...

Bev, LOL! I would warn T-Rav to watch his back, but I'm enjoying the show.

Isn't that the truth about Biden. I can see it now. We toss him into the volcano. A moment later a booming voice says. . . "what the...?!" And then Biden goes flying out of the volcano off to the horizon like he's been spit out by some giant dinosaur!

On Obama, what a shame if this interfered with his vacation. He works so hard... he deserves a rest.

fun post. Biden is in reality what Dan Quayle was in leftist media myth. Interesting thought about the population of China. One solution might be to send our young liberal Hollywood actresses (Megan Fox,) singers (think Natalie Mains) make-up artists and Pelosiologists over there for good. The young Chinese studs would be very happy (at least at first) and we would be free to take back the golden state.

Just a thought . . . . good to be back.

AndrewPrice said...

Jed, Glad you're back! :-) We missed you!

I am all for some sort of "cultural exchange." They can get people like Pelosi and we can get a little sanity over here. Heck, I wouldn't even demand anything in return. . . but there is a no returns policy!

You're right about Biden v. Quayle. Biden really is what the MSM and left tried to make Quayle out to be, but they were lying about Quayle and they are covering up Biden.
