New Google Fairness Policy

We are on blogger, which is a Google service. Unfortunately, that means we need to comply with Google policies. Google recently instituted a “fairness policy,” which requires “all politically oriented blogs to provide competing opinions.” We even got a letter from their lawyers about this. So until we can find a new place to host Commentarama, we are required to comply (with apologies):

Some say. . . China is our friend.

Some say. . . You can tax your way to prosperity.

Some say. . . John McCain is a true conservative, in the Charlie Crist mold.

Some say. . . Obama actually is paying attention to overseas events.

Some say. . . The Democrats are not a collection of angry tribes that pretend to rail against big business as they hand out goodies to and collect moneys from those same businesses.

Some say. . . ObamaCare will do all the things it won’t and won’t do the things it does.

Some say. . . Biden is not the world’s biggest idiot.

Some say. . . Unions have not become associations of lazy, corrupt thugs.

Some say. . . Star Trek stinks.

Some say. . . Pelosi is one sexy mama.

Some say. . . “Lawhawk” is not his real name.

Some say. . . Neil Kinnock stole his own family history from Biden’s imagination.

Some say. . . today is not April 1.

I do not agree with anything you post on this website ever. Even though it may appear that I might agree, I never really agree in my heart.

[That should cover us for a while]

Is this why Google renamed itself "Topeka" today? Maybe they have to hide from their own lawyers...

Jed, Yep!

Patti, I'm sorry. I never knew you were fans of theirs? I'll try to be kinder in the future.

Bev, Nice work. I think that should leave us in the clear.

Topeka? Somehow that doesn't work for me. Hmmm. I wonder if they're serious? ;-)

I hereby recant everything I have ever said on this blog, and will henceforth take only positions which are diametrically opposed to Andrew's. We've got your fairness!

By the way, who's this Gaggle person? The letter from his lawyer was signed by John Lawhack, Esq. Sounds like an alias to me.

John Lawhack, Boy does that sound like a "real" lawyer!! LOL!

I was hoping for a more Obama false dichotomy format here, e.g.:

"There are those who say that pants are no longer an option. That not everyone who wants to wear them can wear them. To them I say, 'everyone is entitled to pants!' It is only when every American wears pants that we will once again shine the beacon of hope to the world."

And then legislation is passed on a single party line vote prohibiting anyone from wearing shorts, skirts, dresses, etc. while we're all forced to buy mom jeans.

LOL! I thought maybe you were going to announce that Janeane Garafalo and Joy Behar would be guest bloggers. *Shudder*

DCAlleyKat, Yep, that's us -- living on the blogging edge! ;-)

wasatchmo, That kind of logic could cause serious harm if taken internally, so we try to keep statements like that to a minimum!

Writer X, While that sounds good in theory, no one would believe as neither of those people you mention can write. ;-)

WriterX: Did you forget that if we refer to that person at all, we refer to her only as G-Beast666? LOL
