Bomb-Throwing Radicals

Pastor Barack Obama stepped down from his pulpit after reminding us earlier this week that we are our brothers’ (and sisters’) keepers. Of course, that’s not what the Bible is telling us we should be, and it certainly isn’t telling us to turn over the responsibility for our fellow man (and woman) to a distant, impersonal secular government.

But enough of that religion talk. Obama has now moved into full-blown pseudo-academic scold mode. The Great Intellect has discovered radicals under the bed. No, not William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, or the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Those moderates live next door to the President in Chicago and don’t have to hide under the bed. They’ve been given a clean bill of health by the mainstream media, and their records of homicidal activity and hate have been expunged. We’re talking about the radical agitators in the Republican Party.

It explains why in three and a half years, the administration has yet to produce a budget that Congress can approve. All the while, the Savior-in-Chief has been too busy ferreting out subversive members of the opposition party to be bothered with getting America back on the road to fiscal health. Any day now, he will stand in front of the cameras, holding up a sheet of paper, and proclaim “I have in my hand a list of forty-eleven subversive radical right-wingers who have infested Congress.”

After making sure to threaten the United States Supreme Court with serious consequences if it struck down his beloved health care law, the Ivy League grad proceeded to draw all kinds of parallels to radicalism that he learned from Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States and Mad Magazine editorials.

Addressing the American Society of Newspaper Editors, The One exposed the Republican budget proposal (advocated largely by Rep. Paul Ryan) for what it really is—a Trojan horse. He was attempting to indicate that the Republicans are not only radical, but they’re trying to conquer Troy on the Potomac using sneaky tactics, something the Democrats would never do in their efforts to protect the poor, the meek and the lowly.

Says Obama: “Disguised as deficit reduction, it is really an attempt to impose a radical vision.” That vision is based on the obscene idea that you can’t spend more than you take in, then borrow more to cover the gap. If you ran your household using that ridiculous principle, you would soon find yourself solvent—a very radical concept.

The Big O then went on to channel Zinn (and Marx) with bold historical facts and early Progressive-era logic. “It is thinly-veiled social Darwinism. It is antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and upward mobility for everybody who’s willing to work for it; a place where prosperity doesn’t trickle down from the top, but grows outward from the heart of the middle class. And by gutting the very things we need to grow an economy that’s built to last [until the end of his reign?]—education and training, research and development, our infrastructure—it is a prescription for decline.”

I was touched. I have to love a President who understands the importance of the middle class. But I suspect most of you are foolish enough to think the middle class is comprised of hard-working, free enterprise, business-oriented, family-loving, wage-earning, business-building, risk-taking beneficiaries of the Enlightenment, the Founders, and the authors of the Constitution. You would be wrong because you’re not as smart as the former editor of the Harvard Law Review.

The middle class is not at all what you thought it was. It’s actually comprised of government workers, generational welfare recipients, menial laborers who don’t bother to show up for work, union bosses, the 49% who pay no income taxes, and the 99% who occupy the centers of evil capitalism. And now you know.

The crazy radical budget proposed by Rep. Ryan and passed handily by Republicans in the House of Representatives would destroy the American economy. It cuts ten year spending by $5.3 trillion, reforms entitlement spending, flattens income taxes to 10% for the low earners and 25% for the high earners, and opens the debate for eliminating corporate tax loopholes while reducing corporate taxes and cutting or eliminating capital gains taxes. These subverters of the public good have a truly radical agenda—to fundamentally transform America (back into what it was in its glory days). Imagine that!

Obama knows that cutting corporate deductions, allowing enforcement without government intervention into contracts for insurance companies, credit card companies and mortgage lenders, and encouraging businesses development by reducing their tax and regulatory burden instead of priming the pump with taxpayer money are really just thinly-disguised ways of (in his own words) “taking advantage of American citizens while recklessly handing out tax cuts to the wealthiest.”

He dug up some more recent Democratic epithets for supply-side economics and the Laffer Curve, including “tickle-down economics” and “voodoo economics” (the latter stolen from Republican President George Bush I). He then summed up the Republican budget by saying it “made the contract with America look like the New Deal.” Primary candidate Newt Gingrich (R-Bellevue Hospital Mental Ward) helped his man in the White House out by calling the proposed budget “right-wing social engineering.” See? There really is such a thing as bipartisanship.

This is truly a man of the people, much like Julius Cæsar. He is protecting us helpless plebes from those predatory patricians. And he hasn’t even asked to be made dictator for life—yet. Yessir, he will stop them from throwing granny off the cliff, grandpa out into the snow and denying healthy food for the little ones.

Lest we think he doesn’t mean it, he has made it clear that he’s not going to let a gang of unelected judges do to his beloved Obamacare what an earlier court did to FDR’s National Recovery Act and Agricultural Adjustment Act. Just like Obamacare, those laws protected the right of the government to decide “what’s fair.” But those radical judges interfered with the government’s high-minded ability to make America a land of milk and honey by citing that useless old Constitution. I think I read that last part in the Harvard Law Review.

Geez, I am so glad I am part of the Bible/gun clingers.

I am sure now that at some point between now and Jan 2013, Obama will attempt to declare Martial Law. It will be met with derision and hatred, but I feel he won't just let his claim to power go.

Unlike Julius Caeser, he can't call for Congress to make him dictator for life.

Is everything still "Bush's Fault"? I don't think so,because on January 3rd, 2007 the Democrats took over the Senate and the House.
At that time:
The DOW Jones had closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies had SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH.

January 3rd, 2007 was also the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate
Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that followed just 15 months later took place in what part of our economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
bo has shown how to correct that problem, not.
bo's lies have grown in proportion to our national debt under his guidance. Doesn't anyone listen?
I would rather read about the mating habits of the delta smelt than any more of bo's tripe.

rlaWTX said...

I thought the problem with the smelt was lack of mating practices:)

Seriously though, I really, deeply, intensely, fervently, and overwhelming dislike TOTUS. (I think there's a 4-letter word for that)

T-Rav said...

Dear President Obama: This phrase "Trojan Horse" that you keep using. I do not think it means what you think it means.

BevfromNYC said...

rlaWTX - I have always been a little unclear about how you felt about TOTUS, but now I am clear. You know "love" is a 4-letter word...just sayin'

K said...

Give the guy a break. Besides the economy, energy, foreign policy, spending and domestic policy he's done pretty well.

Tennessee Jed said...

it is an interesting world in which a guy like Obama can call Ryan's budget radical. He doesn't disappoint me every day. It's more like a cross between being pissed off and laughing at him

T-Rav said...

Bev is right. I recommend a six-letter word which also begins with "l."

AndrewPrice said...

Obama is worthless and in November he will be history.

Unknown said...

Joel: As much as I thought that Obama was just a big phony with no executive ability when he was elected, I would have laughed off the idea of him declaring marital law to preserve his leadership. Today I don't find that the least bit out of character for him. It wouldn't be any respect for our form of government that will stop him, just that yellow stripe down his back.

rlaWTX said...

I was going for one that began with 'H', but I can understand the misunderstanding - I was rather obscure.

Unknown said...

Tehacahpi Tom: That, more than almost anything else the Democrats have done, was the basis for the economic collapse.

I don't think the Delta smelt have any mating habits. That's why they were going extinct long before the enviroweenies intervened to show them how to do it.

Unknown said...

rlaWTX: You got there ahead of me. LOL

Are you saying that Obama is a lout?

Unknown said...

T-Rav: I hadn't thought of that. Do you think he was talking about Trojan Whores? In which case he's talking about one of his ardent birth control supporters who can't afford free pills and other "devices" while screwing around in law school.

rlaWTX said...

Hawk - that is bad! [maybe that's a brand name? birth control & fun all in one package?]

and yeah, I'd be willing to call him a loathsome, hateful lout. Or a lout who I love to loath & hate. Whichever.

Unknown said...

Bev: Didn't someone say that love is just the flip side of hate. "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell the fury of a messiah scorned."

Unknown said...

K: Well said. Except for all his flaws, he's perfect. I wonder if after losing the election he'll channel Nixon and say "you won't have Obama to kick around anymore." The problem for us is his gaggle of true believers who remain steadfast even today with the thought "with all his faults, we love him still." After overlooking all his faults, there's nothing left to look at.

tryanmax said...

"Give the guy a break. Besides the economy, energy, foreign policy, spending and domestic policy he's done pretty well. "

K, LOL! I'm gonna have to use that one!

Unknown said...

Tennessee: Only a true radical like Obama could consider the very conservative idea of spending less than you earn to be a radical idea. I think the elitist word for this is "projection." He's so radical that he breathes out red dust, but he thinks Ryan is the radical.

Unknown said...

T-Rav: I've come up with a few words to describe Obama and how I feel about him that begin with that letter. But most of the words I use for him off-blog have four letters and are frequently referred to as "good old Anglo-Saxon English."

Unknown said...

Andrew: Historians will put him down in history as a great event, like the Black Plague.

Tehachapi Tom said...

I could love bo.
If he resigned, moved back to Kenya or just evaporated, leaving no residue.
Other than that I simply view him with disgust.
Hate, no he isn't worth the effort.

Unknown said...

rlaWTX: Aw, you're just repeating those radical Ryan talking points.

tryanmax said...

Jed et al. The reason why Barry and the Libs (that should be the name of a band) can call the Ryan budget "radical" with straight faces is because they have no standard to judge what is radical.

To libs, "radical" is opinion-based, so any minority opinion is "radical." If the opinion belongs to the majority, they turn their attention to a radical minority that happens to the majority opinion, and call it "radical" based on that. If all else fails, anything different than the status quo (which in government is decidedly liberal) is "radical."

I'm not even trying to make a joke. This is what I have gleaned from trying to debate moderates (read: liberals that are open to discussion). Eventually every conversation reaches bedrock facts which they dismiss because they simply don't like them.

Unknown said...

tryanmax: K has come up with the perfect bumper sticker. But if you use it, be sure to pay royalties. LOL

Unknown said...

rlaWTX: I'm picturing the commercial now. The Trojan Whores saying "vote for Obama, he'll blow your hair back!" OK, I apologize, I watch too much late night TV.

Unknown said...

Tehachapi Tom: It takes me absolutely no effort to hate Obama.

Unknown said...

tryanmax: What's sad is that so many of the people voting today have been through big-spending Democrat administrations and not-quite-so-big-spending Republican administrations so that they've never actually seen a government that lives within its means. Anyone younger than thirty has to read about it in history books. Equally bad, many of the college students have taken economics courses, but never a basic accounting course.

tryanmax said...

That's crazy. Economics doesn't make sense until you've taken accounting. I should know, I took them out of order, then went back to Econ for a better grade.

Joel Farnham said...

LawHawk,

I said he will attempt to, that is if his guards allow him outside contact before he simmers down. The Secret Service is there to save the President, but they aren't there to create a dictatorship. Their oath is to the Constitution, isn't it?

Unknown said...

tryanmax: I did the same thing with the same result. I had some idea of being a bus ad major in my freshman year, but waited until my sophomore year to take accounting. UC Berkeley was one of only about three universities at that time which had installed its own mainframe computers (teamed up with IBM), and decided it would be a great idea to have first year accounting students use them instead of pencil, paper and mechanical calculators. Medieval, huh? I still wake up in the middle of the night screaming "FORTRAN, I can't do FORTRAN!" I gave the mainframe what they used to affectionately call a "nervous breakdown." Shortly thereafter, my faculty adviser suggested that I might want to consider a different major. The rest, as they say, is history. LOL

The final irony is that from then on, I was computer-phobic. But my son is a senior software engineer with Google and has his own software consulting business. When he was just eleven, I bought him a Commodore 64 computer (which I thought was a fancy adding machine). I wasn't watching what he was doing closely, but he instinctively understood the various computer languages, and one day I asked him what he was doing (there were all kinds of weird symbols on the TV he had rigged as a monitor). He blithely told me he was writing code. I didn't even know what that meant. Obviously, not everything is genetic.

Unknown said...

Joel: The vast majority of Secret Service agents take that duty to the Constitution seriously. But I would guess that just like any other large agency, there could be those who have some sort of misplaced loyalty and consider themselves to be more of a palace guard than protectors of the duly-elected chief representative of the people and the Constitution.

tryanmax said...

Addendum to the liberal definition of "radical." It should be noted that the same term that carries a negative connotation when applied to an opponent carries a positive connotation when applied to an ally or one's self.

T-Rav said...

Ugh. I did not need that image in my head.

Unknown said...

tryanmax: True. We should probably all just settle on saying "unprecedented." LOL

Who ever lives in Florida, be careful on Saturday. Muslim Radio is pushing something this weekend and a call to action on Monday when Zimmerman gets a hearing. The New Black Panther Party wants to characterize Martin's death as a modern day lynching. I am curious as to how many they can get to follow them.

T-Rav said...

Speaking of loathsome, I see in the news feed sidebar that a Time reporter asked Nikki Haley (who is Indian-American) in an interview, "Do you tip your cab drivers more if they're Sikh?"

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

What is wrong with these @#$%&?!?!?!?!

Unknown said...

Joel: It will be interesting. Hate groups can join hands occasionally, like Hitler and Stalin about Poland. Black Muslims (Nation of Islam) consider themselves Muslim. All other Muslims consider them a bizarre cult. But when there's a cause they can both support to stir up hate and racial resentment, they do put aside their differences. The New Black Panthers will join with any group that hates white people and wants to stir up violence. We'll have to watch the developments.

Unknown said...

T-Rav: Haley's too much of a lady to be crude, but wouldn't it have been great if she had replied "About the same as you tip your paid male escorts?"

Speaking of bomb-throwing, Don Cheadle threw one at NBC via Twitter. I saw it first at Breitbart, but Twitchy is more informative.

I have always liked Cheadle. Now I have a whole new respect for him.

Unknown said...

Joel: That's great stuff. He certainly doesn't mince words. I had no idea what his politics were, and was afraid to ask. I really admire him as an actor, but now I admire him as a black man who actually cares about race relations. It's so much easier for a black actor to go with the flow and gin up staged rage than it is to go against the tide and demand facts and fairness.

Pass a budget, and you give the opposition a club to beat you with, this is what the liberals are thinking…the sky’s the limit. Ryan’s budget is feeble as well, it doesn’t come into balance until 2040? This is not adequate. We must tear out 10-20-30% of the federal budget, cutting across the board. Close entire agencies, EPA, DOE, etc. moving these responsibilities back to the states. Repeal executive order 10988, signed into place by JFK in 1962 allowing government employees to unionize. We mustn’t buy into the Beltway narrative that by slowing the growth of a program is a cut, it’s simply stupid. End Baseline Budgeting. As citizen taxpayers we must continue the firings for a decade or better, replacing the current politicians, both side of the aisle. They have been allowed to create fiefdoms, where they can become fabulously wealthy on the taxpayers back, this is not public service. Replace the tax code with the “Fair Tax,” or a true ironclad “Flat Tax,” not like ’86, it grew back. This removes the play-toy of politicians, and would stop K-Street, killing off lobbying. There is so much that could be done, this is just off the top of my head.

Keep the faith, and “VOTE!”
