There's an ill wind blowing near Wall Street and it's not just the stench of the unwashed masses. Our building is now officially under siege. As of Thursday, One Liberty Plaza is surrounded by a double layer of barricades and a triple layer of security check points. As the Occupation goes into its fourth week, there is beginning to be less of a "kumbaya:" atmosphere and more of a rising level of violent rhetoric much of which the "movement" would just as soon you did not know about.
Well, let's just say that what is old is new again -
From #OccupyLA -
And from #OccupyWallStreet right down at Zuccotti Park, there have been several incidences of ranting thuggery. Below is one example. Nobody stops it. Nobody questions it and it is explained away by the "Communications" table with a "They do not represent us, but, hey, they have a right to say what they want".
Seeing a theme beginning to appear? About now I would be expecting our political leaders to be denouncing their hateful rhetoric, but they seem to be getting real kick out of it.
And just in case you were wondering who the Puppet Master of the #OccupyWallStreet movement really is...well, it's actually a Puppet a/k/a "Anonymous".
All kidding aside - This beginning to really scare me. With the Tea Party movement, I never feared that it would ever turn violent. We have always been clear in our purpose and focus our anger at the politicians who will not listen by voting them out and holding the ones left in office accountable for their legislation. But what is going on now, is just unfocused rage and it is not a matter of "if", but "when" the violence will begin. There is an element that WANTS the violence to begin. Even the MSM is prodding it on by stating that "what this movement needs is an element of Kent State".
A old friend of mine posted on his Facebook page that he was on his way to an Occupy 99 rally today. He proudly announced that his poster reads: "Forgetting Us Can Kill Y.O.U.". That made me sad. He used to an intelligent person, now he's a thug.
I closed today with these photo taken by David Webb on Thursday. David is one of the organizers of my Tea Party group - TeaParty365.org - in New York City and host of The David Webb Show on Sirius XM Patriot 125:

Bev: There had been a whiff of antisemitism in this from the beginning (rich, Jewish bankers), but it seems to be escalating. Anyone who thought we had gotten past that kind of thing is going to find this a very unpleasant surprise. The great unwashed and ignorant masses have a few dozen incoherent complaints and no solutions.
It's very sad that historically speaking whenever a disaffected, confused, free-floating anger, anti-intellectual mob gets together, there's always one theme they seem to be able to grab onto: It's the fault of the Jews. How sad. How pathetic. How dangerous.
where's Irene when you need her... (that's probably mean, but oh well)
Bev
The sign holding Catholic illustrated his knowledge of his own faith. Jews were the first Christians.
St. Peter was one of the disciples and if memory serves he was a Jew.
The prime venue that the Catholics hold so dear is St Peters Basilica.
Sorry to hear one of your friends took so long to show his true colors.
Speaking of colors isn't it interesting the prejudiced anti-semantics were blacks?
Bev-
I'm sorry that you are beseiged by these crumb-bums. Your report is excellent. I think, as this continues and escalates we need to record all the people who give it their blessing and those that appease it. My best guess is that it is going to get worse.
The left wants violence (chaos) but they want to be able to blame it on the right.
The Legacy Media did their best to egg-on the Tea Party toward violence. Strike one. When that didn't work, they tried to fabricate it. Strike two.
Now they are billing these Flea Baggers as an equivalent to the Tea Party. The violence is inevitable. In fact, it has already begin in part. But guess who the MSM will try to blame.
Hint: they're not aiming to strike-out.
LawHawk - Funny you should say that. I was just out buying groceries on the Westside (there's a Trader Joes!) As I was waiting for a bus, there was this very old woman, obviously off her medsl who was ranting and swearing about the "dirty Jews" and much worse. All I could think of was why is it that when people go crazy, they rant about the Jews?
rlaWTX - Even a Hurricane can't get rid of these people. But at least the city would be able to force them to leave. There is no reason for them to leave = the weather so far has been cooperative and the leadership is either local so they go home at night or the professionals from out of town stay in the hotel a block away. it's the chumps who sleep in the park.
Mayor Bloomberg has no reason to make them leave and most likely legally, they can't make them leave.
Sadly Tom, it is not surprising that the most virulent antisemites are black. Jews are more of a minority than they are and have been consistently more successful where ever they lived. Hey, Jews have been thrown out of more countries than anyone other group, but they always manage to survive.
tryanmax - They do want violence and all it's going to take is one real spark. The building owners want to come to an agreement with the occupiers. Actually it was the building management that postponed the cleanup, not Bloomberg. Kaiser Bloomberg, like any good tyrant, will not be disobeyed and is itching for a confrontation.
I am itching for Mayor Bloomberg to go away.
at least they'd get a shower...
Bev
When we were in Boston we went to a TJ and I was surprised they did not carry Two Buck Chuck.
Does the NY TJ carry Two Buck Chuck?
Their cioppino is great especially if you add some of their mixed sea food to embellish it up a bit.
Tom: The one I go to doesn't have a liquor store, but I know about the two buck chuck. It's supposed to be great wine. There IS another TJ at Union Square with a liquor store portion, but I've never been there. I love the cioppino, but I never thought of adding extra seafood! Thanks. I'll try that. It's really great on a really cold day. Yummmm.
Sadly, it appears the rot has reached my corner of the world. Yesterday, some of the grad students announced plans to unionize and drew up a list of "grievances" they have against the Department. What grievances are these? Well, they want the women's restroom to have more than one toilet, for one thing. And they also want the professors to socialize--i.e., go out drinking--with the students. And a lot of serious liberating things like that. It's clearly being inspired by the #Occupy movement, and I would laugh at it if I didn't know some of the people behind it and what plans they have in mind. I foresee an off-and-on headache for the next few weeks.
T-Rav - The students want to force the Profs to socialize with them? That is an actual grievance? I totally understand the bathroom issues though.
Oh, btw

THE TEXAS RANGERS ARE LEADING 10-4 IN THE 6TH!!!
Bev, I'm watching the game. Hmm, maybe we'll see a Cardinals-Rangers matchup for the World Series (fingers crossed!).
The restroom thing is a non-issue to me. There's a second small restroom on the floor, and multiple restrooms with multiple toilets on the floors below us. But beyond all that, this is an idiotic thing to be doing. Unions are for issues like "I'd rather not handle these toxic chemicals without protection" or "We keep getting our limbs caught in this machinery," not for crap like this. Plus, the students leading this are talking about lying about the professors to get them fired if they don't comply, which is just plain unacceptable. It's the entitlement mentality at its worst.
Great post, by the way. Don't feel too scared of those weirdos besieging you in Manhattan. Call on some of those black helicopters if you can...
TEXAS RANGERS WIN THE PENNANT!!! THE RANGERS WIN THE PENNANT!!!
And now back to regular programming...
Congratulations, Bev. :-)
T-Rav - So the unionized students are going to threaten their professors with what if they don't have a drink with them?
As for the black helicopters, I am not so sure WHOSE side they would be on...and the fact that there may be sides just makes me sadder.
Bev
We need to be listening in the morning to the Occupy Sacramento contingency.
When ask today by a tv/radio talk show host what they were demonstrating for created an interesting set of answers.
Most said I don't know then they ask the leader of the bunch who said, " we do not know what yet ,but we have committee who is working on that and plan to reveal our reason in the morning."
How is that for an explanation?
Denver got rid of ours Friday morning. And the sun still came up.
Bev, The difference is this.
The Tea Party is a spontaneous movement of people from the population at large who have come together because they have a common goal, which is to stop an out of control leadership.
The Occupiers are not a spontaneous movement of people from the population at large. They are a small group of hard-core socialists (and pretend anarchists) who do this "professionally"... i.e. this is what they want to do for a living. Their goals are not to protect freedoms, it is to take freedoms, it is to get even with people they believe have aggrieved them.
That's why it pisses me off when people say these "kids are just misguided." No, they are not! They know exactly what they want, they just aren't honest about saying it to you. They want to take from those they think don't deserve to have or those they think don't deserve to exist. They want to see society itself torn apart because they think they will rise up under the new communist world order and get to live off the rest of us proles -- just as they are living off their parents money, or school loans or public assistance now.
That's also why you see the violent rhetoric... because their ideas are violent. They aren't naively looking for us all to get along in some new way, they want to punish people they consider their enemies.
Well...inciting a riot and a real catchy beat!

Bev, I'm not really sure, and I don't really want to find out. Mainly, I find it hilarious that these guys think they're so fascinating that their professors should want to go out and have drinks with them. It's official: I'm surrounded by morons here. Except for my prisoners--I mean, pet cats.
T-Rav - ummm, speaking of your kitties, have there been guys or gals with sunglasses and wires to their ears skulking around your house lately? Just wondering...;-)
Not lately, no. I'd say more, but some people are knocking at my door and saying they have warrants. I've got to go activate my booby traps now.
Thanks for the report, Bev. These people are pathetic. There was a small business owner on Hannity on Friday whose deli is just being ruined by this group. They keep wanting to come in just to use the bathroom or sit, then they threaten her when she refuses. Of course, her regular customers aren't coming near the place.
And on the home front, a friend of friend today asked my friend if I had gone to protest?
"Why would she?" asked my friend.
"Isn't it the Tea Party?"
Seriously?? Are average people paying so little attention that they think this is the Tea Party out there?? And if they do, then if they're getting all this positive press, does that mean the Tea Party is now doing good work in their eyes? OMG.
Crispy, my condolences on your stupid friend of a friend... they walk among us and VOTE!
