It's time for the next Republican Debate. . . who you got?
If you don't have Bloomberg, you can see it here online: WashPo Republican Debate or here (Bloomberg) if you prefer.

Is this a trend?
It seems to be.
Oh boy. I don't know if the sockpuppets and I can handle this kind of pressure... :-)
Now where's this shindig happening? I doubt everyone has BloombergTV--I certainly don't. It's probably livestreaming at Breitbart and a few other sites.
I've got it on TV, though I had to dig it up!
I think the Washington Post is streaming the audio.
Grrr. The actual debate doesn't start until 8. This is just the pregame.
Ewww, you linked a "Free Palestine" protestors site! You can do better than that!
I take it this is starting at 8:00 Eastern, yes?
Yes, 8:00 EST.
It was the first one that came up. If you find it somewhere better... somewhere without the smell of hippie, please let me know!
Ok, so Romney caused health care costs to keep going up. Which is nonsense since his plan never meant to reduce costs -- just like Obamacare.
And people in Cain's neighborhood are in foreclosure? So what? Did he steal their mortgage checks from their mailboxes?
Also, I wish the protestors would shut the heck up. The media shouldn't sit outside at events like this. It's still and pointless.
Also, I hate Al Hunt, always have. Smug bastard.
I love how the leftist MSM wants to make these handul of occupy wall street morons into a "movement" but they've never heard of the Tea Party.
This is why I don't watch the MSM anymore. They are all assholes. Sorry for the swearing, but this pissed me off!
Ed, I feel your pain. Trust me. I'm gritting my teeth watching these dinosaurs push their same old agenda.
Ed, I don't know if you saw it, but it was revealed today that some of the people concerned with the nuts and bolts of the ObamaCare plan actually conferred with some of the architects of RomneyCare on implementing it (ObamaCare, I mean). Aren't you surprised?
Seriously, Perry and Cain should both really go after him on this.
I've added a link to the streaming in the test above.
T-Rav and Ed, I just read that. Frankly I'm surprised. I thought they came up with ObamaCare by buying 1,000 Cuban monkeys and putting them at typewriters for a few weeks.
Dear GOP: This debate is being moderated by Charlie Rose and one of those people implicated in the "JournoList" scandal. Explain yourself. Sincerely, T-Rav
By the way, to avoid those dirty hippies, you can follow the debate at Bloomberg's site. Here's the link:
http://www.bloomberg.com/tv/
WaPo is cohosting this, so they may have one up as well; I'll check on that shortly.
Yes, I put the Washington Post link in the text above. I'll add this one too.
Can't believe I finally found the obscure TV station for these debates!
And we are about to enter the twilight zone...courtesy of MSM.
This is gonna be fun!
Here's the other one, via WaPo:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics
I recommend opening one of these in a new tab and keeping us up in the other. We do, after all, expect you to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time--or watch two sites back-and-forth. :-)
CrisD, It took me a while too. I had to look it up on line because it's not one of the channels I leave programmed in.
Ah, okay. Never mind.
By the way, something to keep in mind tonight: According to PPP, Perry's favorability rating is 23/57, for a net figure of -34. In August, Sarah Palin's rating was -30. Food for thought.
DCAlleykat, Do you want to bet they're going to let the protestors interrupt the debate?
Fortunately (or unfortunately), I do get BloombergTV. I'm going to watch the whole thing, despite my ulcer, and try to see if we really can come up with a viable candidate out of this panel.
T-Rav, What you're saying is we could use tissue from both, we could create a truly unlikable clone?
Andrew, I do think they'll use the protestors!
btw...on Direct TV the channel is 353.
WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT SARAH PALIN????!!!!!!
They should show the behind the stage scenes as their managers are pouring last minute Gatorade down their throats, hitting them with smelling salts and giving last minutes tips.... "speak to the right, speak to the right!"
Dear Diehard Palinistas -- what we said was not nearly as bad as what I said about Missouri and Scotland earlier! ;)
Reality checkers! Who do they think they are snowballing now?
WHAT? Will Herman Cain "finally do well?" This guy is an idiot.
More important question of the night: Who goes to the World Series? (The correct answer is, The Cardinals and I don't care who else, as long as it's someone the Cardinals can beat.)
Andrew, black Republicans inherently cannot do well, or didn't you get the memo?
T-Rav, Yeah, I forgot about that.
Look at the diversity on that stage! Who says the Rep., aren't a party with a big tent!!
I would like you to meet my Knights of the Kitchen Table.
I prefer Commentarama's rules.
DCAlleyKat, Tell me about it! How in the world can anyone legitimately argue that Republicans aren't diverse?!
Oh God, it's the shaky cam!!!
I really like him!
Buffering is not my friend tonight.
I like the Herminator also!
This is a problem for Perry. He doesn't really have any details... "do a bold tax structure or whatever."
"I'd be prepared to be a leader." That's called an evasion. What does that mean?
On the plus side, Romney is attacking Obama.
I lead with my hair. Look at my hair. Don't you feel led?
The 'C' word....compromise!
DCAlleyKat, I kept wondering "where are you going to find these 'good Democrats'"?
Try as I might Perry reminds me of a snake oil salesman.
Dude, I can put together a plan in 20 minutes. "I've only had 8 weeks" is NO excuse!
honey if you ain't prepared to lay it out tonight you're out...
You know, you really ought to at least give some bullet points, Governor. And how is saying Romney's had six years to work out a plan a criticism?
Good answer by Bachmann. Finished or not, she makes a point more people need to. This ain't conservatives' doing, people.
Dish it out Michelle!
Hey luvvy, what's she saying 'bout me and Congwess?
WT Gooooooooooo Newt!!
Newt going after Bernanke is an interesting choice. But I like his energy.
Gee, what a thorny question! I wonder where Paul might come down on this?
Paul makes some good points.
The answer is no. Manufacturing jobs are not coming back.
Wonder no more. You can't cure the disease if you don't fine the cause!
I'm sorry, but this sounds like fake-politician speak to me.
Okay, Huntsman diagnoses the problem correctly, I'll say that much. But without a freezing or reduction of the minimum wage and/or a serious curtailing of union benefits, that won't be enough.
Santorum is trying to paint himself as an outsider attacking the system while claiming that his plan works because the insiders will accept it. Huh?
Huntsman is saying many of the right things, the problem is he's lying. And he keeps giving hints of that when you aren't looking.
Medicare is going to be absorbed by Obamacare and you know it Karen!
Hey, my health care plan will even kill initiative for studying realistic life extensions! Problem solved!
And it's rotten insurance anyway!
So Newt is aiming for Palin AND Paul's supporters.
Wait, I guess it was Santorum talking about bringing back jobs. My bad.
This is the exact kind of language that leads to rationing of health care. But don't worry, ObamaCare will never lead to anything like that.
yep that's it Michelle!
Our best and brightest should be in government, not the private sector. No problems there, right?
"I thought it was the price of a pizza," nice way to mimick leftist attacks on Cain.
I agree Herman the current tax system has to go!
I love Cain's style!
Um, no, I'm afraid it's a bit more than a hypothetical. I'd say it's a bit closer to "probability" at this point.
ZAP! "I'm not gonna have to call tim Geithner and ask 'how does the economy work'"!
I just don't know how to give you a straight answer.
And that's called a trip... right on his face.
I smell a "yes" answer in there somewhere.
No Charlie, you are not going to get months to take apart a person I name now, you idiot!
"... and I read Commentarama."
LOL.. Andrew!
I like the Milton Friedman quote, I'll admit; but why did he turn around and shoot it down after throwing it out there?
Huh... Cain just helped Romney again. I bet there is a deal there.
Dang, this is an impressive answer from Gingrich.
That's right Newt! And real journalists would be doing exactly that!
We've been living Kensyian economics since the last time Detroit was 5-0!
I'm sorry Ron, but they bought houses they couldn't afford...
Why doesn't anyone listen to us more? Just because of that one guy in the '30s, you're not going to listen to us anymore?
I'm not impressed with Cain so far in this debate. I want to see some fire, nor am I impressed with these "journalists."
exactly, free market ...get governement out of business!
Score?
So far, Newt and Cain are doing best, I think.
These commentators look absolutely appalled, stunned, and confused whenever anyone gives an answer that government is not the answer. The grey-haired guy looked like he was going to cry.
Andrew, I can't for the life of me understand why that would be. Cain's abreast of Romney in some states; what would he get from such a deal?
Austrians,
We would listen to you more, but I don't speak Austrian.
B.H.O.
Bev, I think that's what he was saying that our policies made houses appear too cheap and people piled into homes, i.e. a bubble.
I started watching 10 minutes into it. The little that I saw of Cain wasn't very impressive. Will hope for better after the commercial. Why is Huntsman still at the table??
T-Rav, If he doesn't really think he's going to win? I'm just telling you what I see.
I have a virtual pitcher of martinis, if anyone's interested...
Let's not forget that Friedrich Hayek was also from Austria, and spoke perfect Austrian.
So far, this has been the best debate of the bunch, even when the idiot questioners think they have the right to become one of the debaters.
Writer X, Cain started really well out of the gates. Things have slowed down a bit since then.
This is a set up.
The correct answer here would be "Obama wants tax increases AND spending increases."
Writer X: Make mine a double with a twist! Yum.
SAY YOU WILL RAISE TAXES DAMMIT!!! I WANT YOU ALL TO SAY YOU WILL RAISE TAXES! REAGAN LOVED TAXES!!!
Andrew, I'm not criticizing that view; I get why you're wondering that. I'm just not sure why he would do it, if in fact he is.
Writer X, any virtual roofies?
Please indulge my use of the false choice fallacy.
T-Rav, What we don't know is what Cain thinks is really likely to happen. He may have decided that he can't win and we just don't know that.
Go Newt!
Nice work Newt!!!!!
I was leading with my five biological and 23 foster children.
You heard it here first, America--Obama will lead us first to Europe, and then to collapse.
Wooo!
Owww....
Go, Cain!!
Go Cain! "The problem with your analysis is that it is incorrect!"
OMG! Cain will make poor people pay taxes, and then the rich will get richer! Obama is our only hope!!!
What does Michelle Bachman do? Does anyone know?
How many times does Bachman have to remind us that she was a federal tax lawyer??
I'm sorry but that's a silly analysis and a stupid attack on Cain.
Then let's codify it so we don't have that problem!
Bev, do you know how many kids she has?
I hate you Huntsman.
Again, why is Huntsman at the table??
Uhh, is Rick Perry even in this debate?
Governors and mayor are IRRELEVANT in China dumbass.
You Americans could always use more of me, right? Don't worry, I'm available.
Writer X, He's here for ballast.
I'm not sure what Bachmann is suggesting in her criticism of Cain's 9-9-9 proposal. Is she saying that because Congress will always look for more taxes, we should have no taxes at all? Government people should all be volunteers? She says Cain's plan is a tax plan not a jobs plan. That's simplistic and ignores that a good tax plan is a jobs plan.
Bev, Perry went to the can, he'll be back in 20 minutes.
I wonder if the moderators are doing to Perry what was done to Bachmann before--ignore him until he becomes irrelevant.
Rick Perry looked like he just perked up. I didn't know he was there...
"We need to get American working again. And can I get a beer darling?"
LOL!!!! Andrew...
There he is...hey Rick nice you could join the party.
What's with these clips?? I don't want to see these people (except Reagan.)
Meet my alter ego, Captain Obvious.
"I want to go to war with China."
Did he just say he wanted to Go To War with China????
Okay, so Rick Santorum can go screw himself now, as far as I'm concerned.
I HATE that style of arguing, "I just talked to a guy who told me..."
This is what happens when candidates get frustrated that nobody supports them.
Bev, yes. Don't let him anywhere near the big red button!
I'm not finished!! I'm not finished!!!!
omigod that commentator is gonna have a heart attack.
In answer to David Cote's question: Pass right to work laws in every state and at the federal level. Get rid of forced unionism and you make a big dent in our lack of competitiveness.
They need a bouncer to get rid of Santorum.
Day 2 is not soon enough. Oh, I totally don't like Romney's answer. Waffling already. Not good.
Jeez, Santorum has thrown this off the rails into a free-for-all.
I need a martini, a real one this time.
Can someone tell me why Santorum's still here? Better yet, can someone tell me why the sharpest minds are on this site and not at that debate table?
What happened to Ron Paul, by the way? Has anyone seen him in a couple hours?
Had to fold clothes. My own personal reality check! so now the candidates get to go at each other, eh....isn't this is exactly what Newt said two debates ago...the libs are determined to get them at each other's throats.
Let's have a love fest on conservatism people!
T-Rav, Have the sharpest minds here because... well, because. :)
I think I've seen this guy on SNL before.
ditto ..the bald guy really enjoyed the last five minutes!
Let's take bets on who doesn't make it back from the debate?
Andrew, I think he's off somewhere making love to a gold ingot.
This guy is an IDIOT!!!
DCAlleyKat: Someone just suggested that all us conservatives should get together and hold a love-in in Berkeley.
Perry and Santorum and Huntsman are toast...
Andrew, I can tell you who I hope will not come back from the debate, and his name rhymes with "Danforum."
DCAlleykat, I agree.
Imagine how the heart attack rate would increase in Bezerkly!
Perry ain't doing well either. He isn't getting many questions, and worse, he just doesn't seem enthusiastic about anything. And remember, the first half of the debates are usually when he does his BEST.
This Bloomberg TV sucks. These commercials and commentators suck eggs. Now I know why I don't watch it.
I'm still liking Cain, but he has to do better with his 9-9-9. He said that Bloomberg's analysts were wrong, but couldn't explain why their projections were off. I strongly support a plan something like Cain's, but the numbers still need to be worked out and laid out to the American public. As for that income tax portion, the left wants everyone to pay his fair share--good. The rich pay 9% and so do the 51% of people who are now paying nothing.
LOL!! Perry looks like he may reach across the table and strangle Bachmann. Or he may go asleep again. Not sure.
You know what being a Democrat in Texas in the '90s means today? Not a @#$%&^) thing.
I predict the first question from Santorum to everyone will be: "Sir, are you now or have you ever been a homosexual! Admit it sir!"
Lawhawke...Herman should say his plan is the fair tax.
Brilliant!!!!!!
AMEN, Herman!!!
Well! He hit Romney after all.
Are you a homosexual, SIR?!
I love Herman Cain!
Romney says simple answers are not the best and then proceeds to prove otherwise.
ha ha ha, I'm funny
Is Huntsman gunning for Anderson Cooper's job?? Gag me.
That's just fomenting another form of class warfare Mitt...everybody's taken a hit under Obamaconomy!
Huntsman is such a sniveling ass.
Jim Geraghty and Ed Morrissey on Twitter: Cain to Perry: pop quiz, hot shot. Name all 59 points in your economic plan. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?
Every time you say 'fundamental' Mitt my brain hears Obama!
Huntsman and Romney: It's a cage match. Who will emerge as leader of the RINOs?
Is Mr. Cain sleeping under Ron Paul's bed?
Get to the point, Ron...*snore*
DCAlleyKat: Fair enough. Cain's 9-9-9 has the sole advantage of simplicity of comprehension. Everyone wants a "fair tax," but 9-9-9 actually lays out what that means. But it's really only a difference in presentation, not in intent.
NEVER call a Paulbot ignorant, Herm. Never.
DCAlleyKat: Fair enough. Cain's 9-9-9 has the sole advantage of simplicity of comprehension. Everyone wants a "fair tax," but 9-9-9 actually lays out what that means. But it's really only a difference in presentation, not in intent.
Go Hermanator....
Cain slaps Paul. "It's not my priority." translation: "you're a nut."
LOVED that answer, Herman. You rock.
LawHawk, I agree with DCAlleyKat; Cain should lay out the details of his plan at some point, but as a basic framework, it's memorable and easy to understand in 999 format.
Perry's campaign should have given him uppers before the debate.
We shall not allow this dishonor to go unpunished! Prepare for lots of trolling and hacking on your website, Cain!
ooh...a wee bit warm, eh
What an idiot.
Oooooh. Loved the PBS jab.
